1  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / We are.. The Walking Dead on: February 27, 2015 06:28:11 PM
It's me, again. With Walking Dead crafts, again. ^__^

(Right Click > View Image to see larger).

Meet my lil Cuddle Buddies!~ Glenn, Maggie, Michonne, Rick, Daryl and Carol!~  All my ((surviving)) favourites from The Walking Dead.

Made of all soft fabrics (fleece/minky/etc). I really wanted to make some simplified, cuddle-friendly plushies instead of the usual 'primarily for display' dolls I make. I have to come to love their clean lines and cutesy button eyes, it's a nice change of pace, and a complementary addition to the more detailed dolls. ..and I've got to say, I made myself a little Rick and he's fabulous to hug the ~feels~ into while trying to survive the episodes. Wink

I'm not going to upload individual shots of them because the pics aren't brilliant. I dropped & broke my camera so I'm having to rely on my iPod until I get another. :/

Thanks for looking!~

Oh she's so adorableeee!
3  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Fili (and a friend) on: February 09, 2015 01:35:14 AM
These wee ones were a gift for a friend. Her absolute favourite character is Fili and after I made the set of Daryl and Carol dolls (and had such fun posing them) I decided I would make her a little mini-me to go with him.

They're a little different from my usual fare, but I was trying to tailor the dolls to suit her tastes; super simple with button eyes. I'm not sure I succeeded on the super simple front, however they are fairly simple for me. Wink

They're about 12" (though Fili is a smidge taller) and have the internal upper body armature for posey fun times. They have faux fur hair - which, side note, is a pain to braid. Tongue

I used a TAP (Transfer Artist Paper) sheet to create her shirt based on the one she wore to the movie. It ... didn't really work out.  Huh Not sure if it was an old package or if it wasn't compatible with the fabric I used or what, but it didn't come out transparent like it was supposed to (not on either of my attempts). So.. eh.  It gets the point across, so I just had to go with it.  She also has removable craft foam glasses.

Thanks for reading!~

Such a clever idea! I would have loved one of these when I was little. Cheesy
5  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / Re: Getting a doll head to sit straight? on: February 09, 2015 12:58:49 AM
You can use wire, or a paddlepop/wooden craft stick or even some doubled-over chenille stems/pipe cleaners. Anything that offers a support for the head will work. Smiley

8  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: Big Polar Bear from Sweatshirt on: February 09, 2015 12:52:33 AM
Oh he's absolutely delightful! I think he 'big' head is just fine (I think big heads are adorable! Wink) and such a sentimental touch making it from your jumper. Cheesy
9  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: Daryl and Carol dolls on: February 03, 2015 01:50:56 AM
Thanks, lovelies!~

They are both so cute! But she can't have Daryl, he's mi... I mean, they're adorable!
Haha, thank you. Wink

they are both incredible dolls.  what did you use for the hair to make it look so great?

Thank you!~. Their hair is just synthetic fur fabric. Smiley
10  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: Daryl and Carol dolls on: February 01, 2015 04:54:39 AM
Thanks so much Quantumphysica, Homerof2, thisbirdsabsurd, rockmygypsysoul, elderflower and HalloweenTown!~ I appreciate the feedback. These guys were a labour of love so it's touching to know you like them, too!~ Cheesy

After the ooh-ing and ahh-ing at the cute and amazing that is all of your dolls, I noticed something.  Is that a new key logo on your photos?  I like the design!

Thank you, dulcet! Smiley It's not new, but it's been awhile since I used it. I must admit, it raises a smile each time I see my little geek key, so I'll probably be using it from now on. Glad you like it, too! I'm a bit of an odd duck so I never know if things that I like/amuse me, appeal to other people. Wink
