3  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / New Who/ Torchwood Swap on: October 01, 2007 09:57:46 AM
I've been away from crafterster for quite awhile, and the lack of swapping has gotten to me, and I can't stay away any longer.
One of the things that has been distracting me from all of you wonderful crafters is my addiction to the new Doctor Who, so I figure what better way to get back into swapping than with a Doctor Who themed swap.

If we keep it smallish I can organize, but even though I have time for crafting now, I don't have time to organize a humongous swap.

Questions? Comments? Concerns?

5  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / sock patterns? on: January 20, 2006 03:08:25 PM
I'm really interested in learning to knit socks for the knitting Olympics and I was wondering if any of you had suggestions for a easy first time sock pattern. I have been able to find patterns for bulky socks, but I was planning on using this yarn http://www.knitpicks.com/yarns/yarn_display.aspx?itemid=5420113 so I don't know if those will work. Also any sage sock advice you could give me would be wonderful.

7  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Newbie knitting question on: September 21, 2005 09:06:53 PM
I learned to knit today! By knit I mean just casting on and knit stitch. I went to a knitting circle meeting at my school where they taught me. The lady said I was a natural and the best beginner she had ever seen, and while that is pretty awesome I'm still fumbling around not really knowing what to do. She taught me using tiny wooden needles that were connected and regular acrylic yarn and I didn't have many problems, but now that I am on my own using diffrent supplies that has changed. A knitter friend of mine loaned me some size 11 metal needles and rather puffy yarn that was just too insane to deal with for my first try; so I went out and got something more manageable, Red Heart Plush to be exact. My stitches have gotten extremely loose and I am having trouble keeping everything on the needles, I'm thinking this is because of the large size and texture of the needles, but I'd love a second opinion as my knitting experience goes back about 6 hours.
Also, I'd like to add that knitting is awesome.
8  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Jones Soda costume help on: September 01, 2005 05:47:33 PM
I have decided to go as a green apple Jones soda, a rather abstract one. I have a bright green shirt, earrings made from Jones soda caps and I want to get some green leggings. My plan for the label part was to make a skirt out of green apple labels and packing tape, my problem is that I do not have enough labels. So I would be forever grateful to anyone that could send me some, or come up with something similar  (I am also thinking rasterbator but kinda like the idea of a bunch of labels).
9  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / spray adhesive removal on: August 27, 2005 12:19:22 AM
So I was adhesing somethings outside tonight, it was a little windy and I ended up with glue all over my hands. When I attempted to wash my sticky hands it didn't really do anything. My solution was to use what I call Noxima acid wipes; just scrub at the glue with those and most of it is gone immediately, then wipe your hands on your pants and any part of your hands covered in lint needs to be scrubbed a bit more. I don't think I will use these on my face anymore though.
10  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Black and White Swap Gallery on: July 24, 2005 11:23:46 PM
I've yet to receive and I forgot to take pictures of what I sent so I'm probably not the one who should be starting the gallery, but I want to see what everyone got and I am impatient so post the goodness here. = ]
