Apologies for the crazy delay in posting pictures, but here is the lovely journal rosiegarden sent me for my poetry theme:

Look at that awesome binding!

With my favorite pen for scale.

Open on top of a book of poems.

It worked out perfectly; I've been meaning to buy a little journal for poems to fit in my bag for ages and just never go around to it. [plug] Also if you're a poet, or know any, check out http://quintessentialverse.blogspot.com/ [/plug]

And finally here is a shot of the inside of the Hungry catapiller coin purse; I have some of the outside as well, but they are pretty much the same as what has already posted:

For being super adorable it is really difficult to photograph.

Now to go catch up on the rest of the gallery!

2  Re: Post Photos of Your Tattoos! in Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects by Radioactivecrafter on: February 15, 2008 10:29:48 PM
Continuing with the bee trend:

This has something of an odd meaning. Last year a friend of mine asked me why I was single, as though there is some sort of tangible reason, so I said "Oh, I am secretly made of bees." It is one of the best things I've ever said off the top of my head and it became a joke among my friends. Even though it was kind of a non-sense thing to say I think it actually is a pretty apt metaphor. I got the tattoo to symbolize that even though I am made of bees, they are pretty bees and being single does not mean that there is something wrong with me. So basically it is about being happy about who I am.

I am so exceedingly happy with this tattoo. My first (the tree growing out a book posted awhile back) did not come out exactly how I wanted it so I was really nervous about getting a second one. I think this one is wonderful, but there is some detail missing in the picture so I don't know that it comes through.

and to show the placement a bit better:

I got my first tattoo at the end of August:

I don't know if I am happy with it yet, the difference between the top and bottom part of the leafy section of the tree bothers me a bit. I'm thinking of going to someone to get it fixed, but I'm worried that they will  make it all really dark, and that would probably look worse.

4  Re: Magic Yarn Ball Round 2 in The Swap Gallery by Radioactivecrafter on: December 14, 2006 09:47:25 PM
Well I've recovered from exams so here are the pictures of my swag. The pattern is for thrummed mittens and the yarn is purple pattons classic, and it came with green merino/silk roving with sparkly purple bits for the thumbs. The roving was in the center of the ball so I had to unwind right away, but I was going to do that anyway.

The ball all wrapped up

everything out
- candy cane pen
- actual candy cane with snowman on top
- bracelet kit
- necklace with tear drop beads
- Christmas stickers
- stocking candle
- snowflake/penguin charm
- scented pillow
- cookie cutter
- holiday erasers
- snowflake stamp
- an ornament with laffy taffy inside
- button stitch markers
- sparkly green roving
- ornament made from matching roving

Here be the booty (happy talk like a pirate day by the way)

Here we have a lovely handmade notebook decorated with a window pane. I really don't know how I will be able to write in it; I don't want to ruin it. It has a wonderful weight and the the pages open beautifully.

this shows the notebook off some more, as well as the side of the lovely painted box underneath it.

I think this really captures the beauty and serenity of the word.

inside the box are an awesome little butterfly and instructions (with pre-cut papers)  for making stars to defenestrate

A framed picture of someone being defenestrated, with the definition and origami details

And the most ingenious thing ever, a defenestration alarm! Shown here hanging in front of my fridge because my windows are strongly guarded against defenestration at the moment (by which I mean filled will an air conditioner)

I am extremely impressed with everything my partner came up with, especially with such and odd verb; thanks heaps and heaps!

6  Re: Unconditional Swap (February) in The Swap Gallery by Radioactivecrafter on: February 28, 2006 06:54:04 PM
mjadams fulfilled my request for knitting supplies, and wow did she do a good job!

Everything all togeather 2 hanks of Manos del Uruguay in Burgundy (it is a bit more red than the picture shows), 2 skeins of Sugar' n Cream in crazy orange/pink/yellow, and a gorgeous huge ball of Mermaid, a yarn made special for her LYS, a selection of multicolored straight needles in diffrent sizes, and extremely cute knitting cards.

A little closer look at the Manos and Sugar

Close up on the mermaid, sooooo pretty

and an extreme close up on the mermaid

She managed to pick two yarns that I have wanted to work with for awhile, and all three were exactly to my taste. She also managed to augment my needle selection perfectly, I've got a ton of DPS but only had one set of straight needles,  and all with out talking to me about it, spooky. This is one of the best swap packages I have ever received!

At last pictures!

Everything all togeather ( I think everything had already strated intergrating itself amongst the rest of my stuff so I may have missed something. The parrot is currently hanging out with my foam/feather parrot, they are friends, and the first mate is doing battle with a dinosaur on my dresser.

A close up on the pillow case and the amazing earrings, I wear them often.

Pirate address cards! So awesome that I do not want to give them away.

Thanks so much for everything redstar, I love it all; sorry it took so long for the pictures.

Tiny candle holder set from cortag04, thanks! Sorry about the crappy picture, my camera decided to take that time to start dying.

And here is what I sent to her:

and with a candle

Explanation: The flower is supposed to be a Gerber daisy, which is her favorite flower ( but I'm not that great with clay so it is a little wonky,) maroon is her favorite color, and fresh cut grass is her favorite scent.

cookies! Which were pretty much in this state when they arrived except the tin was much more full, even all crumbly they were amazing and I plan on making some as soon as possible

Close up of the parrot. I have yet to name him, suggestions are appreciated

Close up of the tiny parrot, I think I might put him on an earring and wear him when I pirate

10  Re: Ben Folds- Rock this Swap! Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Radioactivecrafter on: August 19, 2005 12:24:17 AM

The amazing Annim sent me this pile of goddies. A fantabulous purse "Good morning son, I am a bird, wearing a brown polyester shirt", A pouch with which I can display my Ben Folds love (and keep stuff in!) and two nifty key chains; one with pictures of Ben and the other says "Rock this Bitch"

The inside of the purse; I think I could fit a medium sized cat into it.

Me wearing the purse. The lighting is horrid but you can see how the purse hangs and how awesomely long the strap is.

The purse is so great, I don't think I told her that I love brown corduroy and am super happy that I got it, The size is perfect, it hangs well, the strap is super long and adjustable, the inside pockets are divided for easy key storage, and it is fantastically comfortable to wear (also it kinda makes me feel like an adventurer).
Anyone swapping with Annim in the future is quite lucky.
