1  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Machine Sewed Book Binding on: July 16, 2007 07:16:01 PM
Hi,

Ok so I've seen the tutorials for hand sewn book bindings with dental floss and all that jazz, however a few years ago I go a zine that was bond together by being machine sewed. I was wondering if anyone has done this and what is the best way to go about this without breaking your machine.

Thanks!
2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / A new pencil pouch for school on: July 16, 2007 06:58:12 PM
They had this crazy cool 99cent pre-cut fabric at Joanna's so I decided to snag me up some musical note sqaures and make this little pencil pouch for school.

Sorry the pictures suck, in the first one the little round yellow blob is actually an Illinois pin.
3  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Mixed Media on: July 16, 2007 06:52:29 PM
So I can't paint but I do love to collage here are two of my most recent works, all of it is on top of canvas paper. I really love the one record in the ska one...I wish I had a player to have listened to it on.

4  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Mother's Day / For a Tea Lover on: January 02, 2007 11:44:41 PM
My mom loves tea so I made her a tea themed basket for last mothers day.

What I included in the basket was

3 paper back books (brand new from the thrift store)
3 different teas (from herbandginger.com)
Biscottis (from the local super market)
A tea cup with matching small glass tea-pot (also from thrift store)
A tea cup candle, I just bought candle making supplies at Jo-Anns along with a tea-cup from the thrift store, melted the wax and filled it up.

She really loved it all and I made a corny little card with a tea bag on it and tea cup that said "Have a Tea-riffic Mother's Day."

You can probably use the same idea for coffee and other beverages.
5  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / Thrift Store Party and Scavanger Hunt on: January 02, 2007 11:40:25 PM
Hi,

So I really love thrit stores and was thinking of having a thrift store party. Most likely this party will be on  here is some things I've come up with so far.

The party can be on a Saturday and prior to the party everyone can meet in their best thrift store only clothes. I was planning on making a thrift store scavanger hunt were each team has 3 hours and 10 or so dollars to spend on a list of things that must be found at the thrift store. The team with the most completed wins. All of the thrift store goodies then will be put in a box and won by answering thrift store trivia. I'm not sure if they have this I guess I can google some and then just put in local trivia questions about local thrift stores, etc. I figure each guest can make up 1-2 trivia questions so that way everyone can particpate in winning something. I'm sorry if it sounds complicated, I still have to figure everthing out.

After that idea I'm kind of lost. I'd want to come back to my house for some kind of food and games. I was thinking a cookies and cupcakes decorated as coins, and tea and drinks out of mismatched cups. However, what would I use as decorations. Just random knick knack stuff and record bowls are all I can think of.

Any help would be great!
