11  Re: Chunky Houses Halloween Edition Rnd 2 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Sarcastra on: October 08, 2011 02:18:59 AM
I have received a darling house from mandykaye.
The front view, with my initial atop the door:

And when you open the brad/doorknob you find:

A tiny graveyard view and a shot of a Victorian parlor. I can't tell if that is a large doll or a dead girl (as in the Victorian mourning photos), but either way, it is pretty spooky.

The back:

The color of the fabric is truer on this shot than the first. I quite like that fabric - I'd love to perhaps do a little personal swap with you if you happen to have some more of it in need of a new home.

The house came wrapped up in cheerful halloween tissue, too.  Thank you very much mandykaye.

I received a house from cackle yesterday, but had to wait for some sunlight - night owl disadvantages.

Isn't it cute? I love the birds wearing witch hats.  You can just see the sparkle of gold on the roof in this picture. I really like the star flowers on the branch, too.

And the back with an excellently written label with details.

Thank you so much cackle. I love it, my very first chunky house ever.

13  Re: Inchies, Rinchies and Twinchies! Oh My! Swap - Send Out Aug. 15th GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by Sarcastra on: August 21, 2011 08:49:37 PM
I received my art from Kaeleira and Smmarrt yesterday!

From Kaeleira:

She did the twinchie as 'tilting at butterflies' for my Dreams theme - good idea! Love the Anubis, love the creepy circus tent - I don't think I can choose a favorite.  I like them all.  The metallic accents are well placed for visual spice, too.

And art from Smmarrt, our organizer:

Smmarrt also tackled my Dreams theme with symbolic meanings text backgrounds. A variety of themes to chose from. Thanks Smmarrt!

Both ladies sent handmade cards/books holding the art, but both show my real name; so no pics. Just know they're both nice.

All my partners, Smmarrt, Kaeleira and Antidigger did excellent work with my themes and I love all my new tiny art!
Thank you all so much!

I received from Antidigger yesterday!

First, each piece of art had its own page in a cute booklet with the opposing page describing what recycled materials and art tools she used to make it.

Antidigger's recipe book, as Smmarrt called it.

All the pieces together.

We have (clockwise from upper left):
Travel theme rinchie, see the plane flitting across the background of this scene?
View from Antidigger's window theme inchie x2 and Twinchie.  These are my favorites.
Ghost theme inchie, Ghost Girl. The girl is drawn on tissue paper, making her a tad hard to photograph - just like 'real' ghosts!

And here is a shot with the window frames open:

This theme was the artist's sketch of her landscape or view.  Antidigger did a great job - I love it.

She also sent along a handful of paper ephemera extras that will get used for sure.
Thank you, Antidigger.  I'm still slowly working, but hope to have yours in the mail by tomorrow.

15  Re: Sketchbook Project Swap in The Swap Gallery by Sarcastra on: September 22, 2010 03:50:44 PM
Last night I received a bright, cheerfully pink envelope from Sheriffkarli:

Lots of wonderful woodland animals and flowers to use in my sketchbook.
Thank you much, Sheriffkarli!
Everything is great - keep looking at it all spread out on my table and trying to chose a favorite.  I'm currently stalled on my sketchbook, but I know I will integrate some things already.

I received an envelope full of postcards from mimikachu, mostly from places she's traveled:

They range from New Orleans to Brooklyn to Portland (US) to Vietnam, Korea and a folded booklet from Italy.

Thank you!

I received this postcard from whatzudoin:

It is quite interesting and sharp. The foiled words at the bottom read "Metro Richmond Zoo".
Thank you!

19  Re: Christmas Stocking Swap 5 *-*-GALLERY-*-* in The Swap Gallery by Sarcastra on: November 23, 2009 07:04:04 PM
Great stuff all.  Early Christmas for craftsters!

I received a great stocking from celticgoddess today, here are some pics.

Everything together.  We did a medium swap and everything still was spilling out of the stocking.

So, of course I opened this one immediately because Spooky the housecat MUST have her items first.
(Shameless cute cat photos ahead.)

It looks like such a harmless kitty toy, but Spooky is a catnip-fiend!

She chases it down to the carpet and goes crazy.  She kept playing until she started to get pissy (10 min or so) and I had to take it away from her.  She was overstimulated.  Good work, celticgoddess; she loves it.

A closeup of the stocking alone.  A wonderful knit stocking, with sparkly, fuzzy black trim, a rust colored ribbon hanger and a black rose adornment.  That rose makes a nice hair decoration, too.  Thanks.

Ornaments!  We have a non-traditional winter holiday that ends up part solstice, part Christmas, part Halloween and part Mexican fiesta.  These are perfect!  I thought the witch with a red nose was my favorite until I got to the wacky bat, now I can't decide.

A knit kitty, which I requested based on celticgoddess' previous crafts.  She sits on my monitor now, warning me it is time to make dinner.  Thank you!

A dandy scarf.  Let me tell you that as a WY resident, you can NEVER have too many scarves!  This one is surprisingly heavy and dense, from a black and a sparkly silver yarn.  Love this combination, thank you.

More stuffers, in addition to the pounds of candy you see in the first photo, she sent these chocolate wafer things I've never heard of, but turned out to be my husband's favorite childhood candy.  He was pleased to make their reacquaintance and thanks you.  There is also a red-flashing strobe skull (YEA!) and a small, lacy snowflake, stiffened so it can hold its own on a tree branch.

Thank you, celticgoddess.  It was all marvelous.

I received an excellent envelope from Audio-Astrophysics yesterday.

All across the top are handmade paper crafting supplies and I'll be using them soon.  The four squares at the bottom, the skull and the psychedelic animal stripes bit are all fabric.

Thank you, audio-astrophysics.  Great stuff.
