1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Apron Fabric? on: June 24, 2005 07:12:50 AM
Hi all!  I've got a nice, simple pattern for an apron and I'm ready to go!  Question: what fabric is best?  Can I just use regular fabric?  My boyfriend would kill for one made out of this batman fabric we saw at wal-mart, but I want to make sure it'll work.
TIA! Smiley
2  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Stupid curtain question on: June 21, 2005 06:43:56 PM
So I'm moving into a new place and my front door has a window about 21''x 21''.  So I need a little curtain.
I got a metal bar to hang the curtain on, but I'm not finding anything that is cute enough or the right size!  But I've got my handy dandy sewing machine!
Now, the question...
Can I just get a piece of fabric, make a hem all the way around and make a "loop" at the top and toss it on?  I don't want it to be flat, I want it to have "ripples" like a normal curtain.  If I just make it longer and scrunch it on will that be enough?  Or do I need to sew it a certain way?
TIA!
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Deadwood hat on: May 23, 2005 11:24:37 AM
So, who watches Deadwood?  I need that tophat that Joanie wears!  I couldn't find a picture, but if you watch the show, you know what I mean.  It's got lace hanging down the back.
Anyone ever make anything like that or hat any ideas?  It looks easy, but I wouldn't have the first clue as to what fabric to use.
Thanks!
