Hello Seahorse

2  NEEDLEWORK / Sublime Stitching Embroidery / Birdie baby onesie on: May 27, 2009 05:47:20 PM
Here is a onesie that I stitched up over the past couple of nights. The birdies are from the SS Craft Pad, the little letter boxes I stitched on a whim to make it more interesting.

3  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Good Night Octopus on: March 16, 2008 03:42:26 PM
This is an octopus getting ready for bed.

He has everything he needs.

 A toothbrush

A book of "Octo Tales" bedtime stories

A glass of water

And his octo stuffie Grin

This embroidery is pretty large, about 8X10 inches. This is my second "big" embroidery project ever, my first project was similar, but about 1/2 the size.
He's done with DMC floss, and he took about 10 hours to do, including drawing the pattern.

The UPS man brought me the best Xmas gift ever last night! I opened the box and these 4 sweet little babies were in it!

Here are their bellies

They all have sweet little mantle (octo head) accessories!

Here they are hanging out by the tank

Thanks Debbie, I love Kiss them!!!!! (Djonesgirl)
5  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / A penpal sent me something... on: December 12, 2007 09:32:32 AM
I didn't make this, but I just received it in a Christmas card my penpal sent me! It's a beautiful embroidered fish! AND it's all embroidered on cardboard! Neat, huh?

Sorry about the crap pic, it's the only cam I have at work:

LOOK at the back! It's almost as nicely done as the front:
6  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / This is how an insane person decorates her tree. on: November 30, 2007 08:04:09 PM
I spent my Friday night drilling holes in various plastic toys.

Fish, Cops, and Robots, oh my!

Somebody called the TANG! police!

Coral Reef Creatures

Yeah. It's pink.
7  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Fish Geek Angel Squid necklace on: October 19, 2007 07:16:27 PM
I'm not ashamed... Here is my "Fish Geek" necklace with an angel squid... Made out of Shrinky Dinks with sharpie... I do all of the supply orders at my job... Somehow I accidentally ordered a 24 pack of multi-colored Sharpies... Oops.

8  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / cooler bag for a fish geek (5 pics) on: October 19, 2007 07:12:23 PM
I am in a fish club in Boston, and we have once a month meetings where all of us fish geeks get together and swap corals and critters... I was using one of those Coleman picnic-type coolers to carry my stuff in, but that was so boring...

Hubbles works at an AIDS lab, so he has access to free styrofoam coolers, yay! Here is the plain white cooler.

I had to make a hole in the lid because you can't leave the critters too long without air -- I fed an airline through the hole in the lid and connected it with my battery-powered air pump.

Here is the body of the completed bag without the cooler in it

Here's the bag with the cooler in it, I made little button/snaps on the sides to make it easy to get the cooler in and out

Last pic, I put pockets on one side -- One pocket to hold the air pump, one pocket for empty ziplock bags (which are handy at these meetings), and a small pocket for pens/gum/whatever

That's it! The big once a year auction is tomorrow, I wanted to be prepared  Tongue

9  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / Small Stroller blanket on: September 27, 2007 07:10:50 AM
My 2 doors down neighbor just had a little girl 2 months ago... Here's a small blanket I made I thought she could toss on while the baby is in the stroller or in the car... In case you can't tell, the baby's name is "Maya" Smiley

10  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Doraemon Headband on: September 23, 2007 04:34:04 PM
Here is a headband I made with some Doraemon fabric I got in China a couple weeks ago. Also, I added some to a plain skirt to match.
