2  Birdie baby onesie in Sublime Stitching Embroidery by Dawn Octopus on: May 27, 2009 05:47:20 PM
Here is a onesie that I stitched up over the past couple of nights. The birdies are from the SS Craft Pad, the little letter boxes I stitched on a whim to make it more interesting.

I got my package from LovelyISlacey today!!! It's an awesome package, it fits my  :-*loves Kiss personally!

Group shot!

There are so many cool things! The big yarny Octopus is named Britannia, if you look by her tentacle there is a cutie little octo pencil sharpener, there's a hello kitty egg holder holding plastic eggs with HK charms! They are dressed up like animals Smiley There's some tea which I will try tomorrow morning, TONS of candy (that my husband had already eaten some of at the time of this photo)some Union Jack ribbon, a HK goodie bag with stickers, candy, and a memory game, and a sweet octo t shirt! My husband saw her, and said "Is that a mixture of Hello Kitty and an octopus? That girl must know you!"

Thank you so SO much Lacey! It was a great package!

MY THIRD PACKAGE FROM LOOBIE HAS ARRIVED!
Here is everything...

Loobie and I are both readers, when she cleared out some boxes of books she saved some she know I would like! I've been reading the short stories one today.

CEPHOLOPODIA!!
Look at those hundreds of tiny stiches on my new friend! It's funny, I tried to make myself something similar once, but I never made it past about 1/2 of the head! I just need instant gratification Smiley

My necklace - please ignore the shiney-ness, I had just stepped out of the shower.

Goodies! I'm using the bookmark right now Smiley

Yummy!

And just for fun, a pic of my kitty who was watching me upwrap my package >.<

Thank you so much, Loobie! Everything was great! I will miss putting together packages for you Cry

OKAY! This is the third time I have tried to add new pictures to this post!! Seriously! I hope it works this time Embarrassed

Loobie sent me another awesome package!

It came over this weekend, so I was able to get some enjoyment out of it before I had to go back to work today Smiley My new hobby is poly clay! She sent me a beautiful beaded box with tons of different clay in it, some clay tools, fish-shaped clay cutters, and a super-cute book on how to make clay sea friends Grin

Then she added bunches of stuff to my stash - 2 kinds of cloth, bells, ribbon - glittery glue - sea creature embellishments for scrapbooking, and... Sublime Stiching patterns and REALLY pretty pink embroidery floss!

I hope that I didn't forget anything... I loved it all! If you would like to see more pictures... Including my first attempts at poly clay, visit my blog  Cheesy
http://dawnoctopus.blogspot.com/

Thank you Loobie!!!!!!
Guess what?!
I received my package today! Well, sort of. My partner Loobie had split it into two packages, and I received the first one weeks ago...For some reason, the post office had diverted the second package to France?! Anyway, I got it home after work, and ripped into it! I got SOOO many nice things that there are way too many pictures to put here, like 14 of them. I'll put the highlight shots here, but if you would like to see the slideshow of all of the pictures together, please go to my blog to see it - http://dawnoctopus.blogspot.com/

Here are highlights of the first package:

Group shot of everything wrapped

Super-Adorable kitty cover scrapbook! I actually found a kitty in my work parking lot today who looked a lot like this kitty, orange and friendly!

Beautiful jellyfish beaded decoration. I hung her up in my bedroom

She also made me some awesome stationery with fishes on them, some kawaii paper for my crane folding, and some yummy mints in a cool metal container. Pictures of all that in the slideshow.

The highlights of the newest package:

All wrapped up

Group shot of local items --- I have never really had an urge to go to the UK, because I thought that it would be so similar to the USA, but after looking at these brochures it makes me want to!

Cute cute cute octo tea light holders!! They now have a valued spot on my octopus collection shelf!

She also sent me some chocolate that is now gone...Oops... A delicious smelling bath fizz, and a super-cute pencil case with a pen, and a happy octo drawing!

I hope I didn't leave anything out, I loved it all! Thanks my dear Loobie!

All right, ladies, I got a HUGELY large and amazing package from militant pacifist yesterday!! I'll try to mention everything, but when you see the pictures you will understand if I leave out a couple of things!!

First up, the present that started an argument with hubby and I!
Wooden shoe Slippers!!!

Hubby wanted these things SO BADLY, and we have the same sized feet  Cry -- but I laughed and said "NO WAY, these babies are mine!!"

Next is an AMAZING assortment of foods - candy, cookies, and toast sprinkles, some really cute Dutch dark blue fabric, a card with a lovely letter explaining everything, some yummy smelling rose soap, some teency cute wooden shoes, and the CUTEST little wind up hermit crab -- and she also made him a box home out of an atlas page! Very cool!

Here is a close up on Crabby and his home

Next is
An assortment of gummy candies in a handmade box! A lovely large post card, some cute little food erasers, mints, and a preview of the cutest fabric ever!

Close up -- I just LOVE the cow!

But wait, there's more! Yes, I'm serious!
There's a magazine in (Dutch? Sorry, I am terrible at figuring out languages!) With paper-doll cut outs, and some great fashion pictures, some yummy panda cookies (They are really tasty!), a really pretty picture frame, another large post card for my collection, some toothpicks for after all of that candy, a very cute keychain with wooden shoes that are painted, a super-kawaii lucky cat coin purse in my favorite color! Baby pink!, and one of the funniest things that I have ever seen! Stickers for your garbage bin! I have never seen such a thing! Very cool! And last but not least, a paper lantern Smiley

Close up of the bin stickers and painted shoes

Close up of the lantern

Thank you N (I won't use your real name just in case!) so much for all of the thoughtful presents that you sent me! I can tell that you took a lot of time and effort to make a great package that I would love Smiley

Hehe and I have a funny thing to tell you all! Hubby was so upset that I wouldn't give him the slippers he retaliated by eating a LARGE portion of my treats... Well guess who had a belly-ache all night for his being greedy! Hehehee!

Thank you to the organizers, also!

7  Good Night Octopus in Needlework: Completed Projects by Dawn Octopus on: March 16, 2008 03:42:26 PM
This is an octopus getting ready for bed.

He has everything he needs.

 A toothbrush

A book of "Octo Tales" bedtime stories

A glass of water

And his octo stuffie Grin

This embroidery is pretty large, about 8X10 inches. This is my second "big" embroidery project ever, my first project was similar, but about 1/2 the size.
He's done with DMC floss, and he took about 10 hours to do, including drawing the pattern.
