11  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Fashion Show Tank..... on: April 08, 2006 03:24:19 PM
Hi everyone,

I wanted to share a picture of a tank top I resently finished for a fashion show. I spun, dyed and knit the tank top. The necklace, which is felted beads by Rachel-Marie www.knittydirtygirl.etsy.com turned out really cool. I'm really happy with how the whole piece turned out!

Thanks for looking!

13  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Completed Projects / It's Been a Good Weekend..(image heavy) on: March 12, 2006 05:17:49 PM
Hi Everyone,

I haven't posted anything in awhile. So, here is some new stuff. I've been trying to figure out Thick Singles, I am struggling a little but I'm getting there (I hope). Here are 6 new skeins.

Tie Dye, this one was reds and blues. Then I overdyed it with light turquoise and bam! This is what came out.

The Hulk, this is store bought roving. I thought it turned out pretty.

Pheonix Spun, the batt I used for this skain comes from CrossPatch

Slime Green, this skein was all different blue and then I over dyed it with yellow.

Purple People Eater, this skein was all reds and oranges and then I over dyed with blue

Jasper

Thanks!
14  FIBER ARTS / Dyeing: Discussion and Questions / Country Classic Dyes on: March 07, 2006 03:00:27 PM
Hey everyone,

I was wondering of anyone has used Country Classic Dyes? I have been trying to dye roving multiple colors. But, all that happens is half way through the 30 minutes it all blends together.

I am using a large pot on the stove and just enough water to cover the roving. Should I do the baking dish in the oven way? I don't have a microwave so that's out of the question.

If anyone can help, it would so appreciated.

15  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / Carolina Homespun is a San Francisco Treat! on: March 04, 2006 10:42:00 AM
Hey everyone,

I needed to write a little blip about my awesome experience at Carolina Homespun yesterday!!

So, the store is in they're garage in a residencial neighborhood in San Francisco(455 Lisbon). It is a freakin' garage of treasures. It's jam packed to the ceiling with wheels, fiber, drop spindles, combs, flickers, books, yarn, dyes and more! They are so, so, so helpful and nice. I picked up some beautiful Crosspatch Creations roving, a turkish drop spindle and treated myself to a Bosworth Midi drop spindle. I live in Minnesota and we don't have anything close to this.

I say if your in the bay area you have to visit Morgaine at Carolina Homespun. They travel alot so it's good to email them for they're hours.

19  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / Etsy? What do you think? on: December 07, 2005 01:18:01 PM
I was thinking about setting up an etsy account to sell some of my yarn and other crafty things.  Does anyone here sell their goods through it?  Is it good? Is it bad?  Do you sell things to people who just stummbled across the site? Or is it all regular customers who now can check out your stuff online? Any info would be great!

Thanks for your help!
