1  Homemade Dog Cone--img. hvy in Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects by DAME EMMA on: September 11, 2007 08:29:58 PM
So, the girlie had to have some surgery, and she's Franken-dog.
She is missing a bit of her ear, and has a big scar down her inner thigh--that she was licking compulsively.
Solution: Old foam pillow + scrap fabric=soft dog "cone".

She didn't like it at first:

But eventually she gave up and took a nap:

So far, it's stayed on all last night, and all day today.
Hooray!

2  felted furry slippers in Knitting: Completed Projects by DAME EMMA on: July 29, 2007 02:00:12 PM
Behold, the felted furry footwarmers from SnB Nation. I winged the pattern a bit, because once I'd finished, I found out there were errors. D'oh. Felting is awesome, though--can't see a thing.

3  Modified Sophie bag with flower in Knitting: Completed Projects by DAME EMMA on: August 20, 2006 11:22:18 AM
Here's a modified Sophie bag from Magknits, modified to use some 50 cent handles I got at a fabric store.
The flower is from Nicki Epstein's Knitted Flowers. I'm not totally happy with how the flower felted, but the body of the bag is made from Cascade 220 and felted like a hot damn.

4  Hideous flourescent lights--what to do in Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions by DAME EMMA on: August 03, 2006 08:58:31 AM
Here is my problem. My new office is fabulous in every way, but the light fixtures are beyond horrible.
See what I mean?

I can knit, I can sew, I can paint, but I can't for the life of me figure out what to do with this monstrosity.
Any thoughts?

The floor, on the other hand, is awesome.

5  Re: Clapotis from Knitty in Knitalongs by DAME EMMA on: July 21, 2006 02:47:17 PM
Right then. I'll throw my hat in the ring with a summery Clapotis (although I finished it in March and wore it as a scarf). It's Rowan Summer Tweed, and it was a bugger to drop the stitches. But I like it. If anybody else has used this yarn, did you find it had a peculiar odor? Kinda fishy? Kinda weird? It might be the silk?

6  Knit silver necklace with pearls in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by DAME EMMA on: July 21, 2006 02:43:03 PM
Here's a pendant I knit with fine gauge, fine silver wire, 5 mm knitting needles (take my advice and use wooden ones if you're going to try this--metal ones are screechy) and some pearls.
Comments welcomed!
