1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / no purses!? talk about being overly paranoid... on: August 23, 2006 05:31:44 PM
so this year my high school has this new rule where no one can have purses. so we can't carry guns or something like that. anyway i think it's really stupid. but we are allowed to carry a 'small pencil pouch'. come on... put it on a strap and its a purse. but whatever.

so i need some help coming up with alternative ideas to kind of push the limits on this new rule.

my friends and i have already considered fanny packs, and i'm sure we'll try that eventually but other than that i dont know.

maybe we'll just carry our tampons around in the box they come in... but then again there may be a GUN in that box too...

thanks in advance
2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / plastic bag wallet on: April 12, 2006 08:09:52 PM
so i read this idea somewhere online where you iron a bunch of layers of plastic grocery bags together and it forms a weird, Tyvek-ish plastic.
anyway i made a wallet.

and i'm bound to make more so if anyone wants instructions just say so.

and also, anyone owning an abundance of plastic grocery bags with any other language than english printed on them,
i'd love to take them off of your hands;

3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / tourist bag on: January 31, 2006 05:42:52 PM
so over spring break im going with our school band (nerds, represent.) to disney land and i need some type of bag/purse that i wont have to worry about losing. i was thinking of doing one of those cool fanny-pack/hipslingers, but i'm not sure. any ideas?
oh and sorry if this question has already been posted.
4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / is there any hope?... on: July 03, 2005 10:24:33 PM
ok i will try and get a pic of this but...
i got these soccer-type shorts at goodwill that were too big as in they were long and the crotch was almost to my knees and the legs were super wide. i wanted to keep them long but make them more fitted to me but after i did some cutting and sewing and put them on, the get all bunched up in the crotch/upper thigh area, like a mild camel toe almost lol. anyone know where i went wrong !?
5  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / pixy stix on: July 02, 2005 07:14:12 PM
so ive saved a zillion of those little pixy stix tubes because although that powder is the greatest, i love the concept of little paper tubes. any idea what i can do with them? ive probably got like 50.
6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / ghetto hot glue pins. ((updated Sun, June 12)) on: June 10, 2005 06:16:29 PM
so this is kinda stupid but i'll put it up here anyway...

((next to a penny (dont mind the holes) for size comparison))
it's basically a piece of paper and a big ol pool of hot glue. you could probably use little pictures cut from magizines or from the internet or whatever too. now i just need to get to the store to get some of those pin things to glue on the back, or magnets, or whatever.
if anyone wants a tutorial i can make one...
tell me what you think.  Grin

//EDiT//
so these are the ones ive made in the past few days.
((SORRY FOR REALLY TERRIBLE PICTURES! they look better in person, the photos suck because of the glare.))

daisy::piece of velcro that came with the flower on it
star::paper & sharpies
heart::cut out from canvas-type fabric.

cassettes & star::paper & sharpies
heart::cut from magazine.

i still haven't gotten any pin back things but other uses ive considered are magnets, kechains, charms, or big dangley type earrings that i dont really wear.
7  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / 50 pairs of earrings for about $2.35?!?! woot. count me in... on: June 06, 2005 08:25:16 PM
alright so these earrings are mega awesome because you can wear two different colors and match them with your outfits. bonus points for multiple pierced ears.  Smiley sorry if this is awesomly simple and stupid but, it's here.

FIND YOUR PIN!!

FIND YOUR WIRE CUTTER THINGYS!! (( or borrow from dad, grandpa, neighbor, pastor, random man on street )) oh and scissors suck.

FIND AN EARRING TO COMPARE IT WITH!!

HOLD THEM LIKE THIS IN ONE HAND AND CUT WITH THE OTHER!!

ABRACA-WOW!!
normal earring backs should work, or just go buy a pack of those cylinder type rubber ones, like the ones that come behind the backs on earrings you buy at claires.

...tell me what ya'll think.
8  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / lego ipod speaker thingy ((updated)) on: May 30, 2005 04:13:42 PM
so i was totally inspired by this http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=10689.0 and i knew i had some of those speakers lying around so i hunted them down and broke out the zillions of legos i have and came out with this puppy:

the back has two stacks of legos, the bigger one in the center to wind the wire from ipod to speakers on because its so long and the smaller one to store the eadbuds. the speakers arent mega-powerful, but my goal was to be able to use my ipod as an alarm clock or listen to it while like eating or whatever. tell me what you think, thanks.

UPDATE::
i've added more legos and a clock, so i didnt have to turn on my ipod every time i wanted to know what time it was...
9  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / FULLY FUCTIONAL ipod case (Not Cozy) on: May 15, 2005 01:59:18 PM
i started by cutting a piece of plastic out of a Ziploc baggie (one of the thicker storage ones) the size of my mini with some flaps so it covers the whole thing (sides, top, bottom, etc.) and taping it on with the back side of the tape on the mini so it isn't actually sticking to it.[[you can see the black tape in the second pic]] i added stickers but they started peeling off so i put some clear packaging tape over it. i ended up cutting the flaps off the top and bottom because they were getting in the way. it's pretty cool if you're looking for a way to customize your ipod without ruining it or spending $30. not a lot of drop protection but it protects the face and click wheel.
