yeah i work at hancock in moline, IL. we're staying open but at least 134 stores are closing.

its weird being gone from work for a week and coming back to THAT memo...

then there was an interesting memo about people from joanne's coming into hancock stores and try to get employees to quit and go work for them... because of 'all of our stores closing'

well it figures that i end up starting my period like 2 days after school starts.
i've just been getting whatever i need out of my locker when i need it because my locker is pretty close to the bathroom. but that makes me late to the same class every day. the teacher is a guy. so i just said i had to go to the bathroom and it takes longer because i cant use a purse. he told me to find another time to go. i felt like just flat out saying HEY. I'LL CHANGE MY TAMPON WHENEVER I WANT. but i just argued nicely until i got my way. but i still have no way of carrying food. so theres no way i'll settle with not having a bag.

OK WOW.

i didnt come back to check this for a few days and i really didnt expect many people to respond so thank you all very much!

i dont really even know where to start replying to specific people, so i wont.

as an update, our first day was friday (yeah i know. first day on a friday. another stupid school decision.) i saw a bunch of people with purses in my earlier classes, but as the day went on i was seeing less and less. in between classes i saw a girl grab her purse out of her locker and a teacher told her to put it back. and i followed the principal down the hallway while he was arguing with a girl about her bag. so i guess they are really going to try and enforce this stupid thing. but we'll see. if its anything like our 'strict dress code', theyll give up trying to enforce it next week.

oh yeah and bookbags have been forbidden since like forever.

i think that just because the deans are really big bitches at the beginning of the year, ill wait a few weeks before getting like way rebellious. i'll probably go buy a pencil pouch and put it in a three ring binder, that way it will be easy to carry with all my books and stuff, and i'll be less likely to forget it if its stacked with my books.

or i may like make one of those hollowed out books. for the same reasons.

but i do have some clear vinyl that is SCREAMING to be made into something. and a clear bag would be PERFECT because it pretty much shuts down any stupid reasons they have for not allowing us to carry purses. i actually prefer this idea because i tend to have a lot of stuff to carry. my calculator (one of those huge TI-83s) and basic personal stuff, plus i like to eat. so i carry mulitiple ziploc baggies filled with various snacks. and they're requiring us to carry these stupid 'planners' this year. which is new. and also dumb.

i think thats all i wanted to say. i dont know.

so this year my high school has this new rule where no one can have purses. so we can't carry guns or something like that. anyway i think it's really stupid. but we are allowed to carry a 'small pencil pouch'. come on... put it on a strap and its a purse. but whatever.

so i need some help coming up with alternative ideas to kind of push the limits on this new rule.

my friends and i have already considered fanny packs, and i'm sure we'll try that eventually but other than that i dont know.

maybe we'll just carry our tampons around in the box they come in... but then again there may be a GUN in that box too...

thanks in advance
