Been doing this at my house, too. It's even cheaper if you buy a bag of dried chickpeas, cook em up, and refrigerate them. I usually make two or three flavors at a time. You can steam up leftover (or almost yucky) veggies and throw them in the hummus, too. Then you'll have "gourmet" hummus on the cheap!
It'll be in pretty colors, too, and we all know that pretty colors are what it's all about!
