We're going out to a very nice restaurant for my dad's 75th birthday this week and I found a cute dress on sale at Limited Too for my daughter but it's kind of bare around the arms and shoulders and nights in November are pretty cold here in New Hampshire, so I wanted to make her a little cape to wear over the dress.
                          
I crocheted this using Patons Divine in icicle white with a size P crochet hook, both of which I had hanging around. I crocheted a chain for as wide as I wanted the cape to be and then alternated rows between regular single crochet and double crochet into every other stitch with a chain stitch between each double crochet. I still need to go out tomorrow and buy some ribbon to make a front tie with.
I just started crocheting last year. I'm self taught and I still don't get how to move to the next double crochet row corrrectly or neatly, so one edge of this is pretty odd looking, but it's not so noticeable (I hope!).

I made a bag with some fabric found at Goodwill. I didn't put in any velcro or fastener because it was a first attempt and I just wanted to see what would happen.

I was psyched that it came out so nice.
