1  Re: Hurry Up Spring Armwarmers in Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller by craftology on: February 21, 2005 07:43:44 PM

Thought I'd post my armwarmers here too.  I used Manos del Uruguay yarn to make them.  I think next time I'll use a lighter yarn that shows off the lovely cables.

For the left arm I reversed the chart pattern AND the cable stitches.  So I'd use the opposite corresponding cable stitch pattern.  I also started the thumb gusset at row 36 instead of row 30 because I've got small hands.

A very quick and addictive knit!

I finally got the balls to try out my speedball kit with the photo emulsion and to try and do 2 colours. Here it is:

Technical stuff:

I used a paint scraper to put on the emulsion and I let it sit in a dark room for 20 minutes or so.  I used a light table (4 unfiltered black light bulbs) to expose the image for 5 minutes, but any light source will work too.  Then I washed it out at my "wash station" (a.k.a my faucet with a hose connector so I can spray it in my bath tub).

Excuse the wrinkled fabric, it was done on test fabric.
