1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / My small knitted make-up bag on: September 18, 2012 02:14:41 PM
I found the pattern on ravelry and was really easy and quick to whip up, took me about a day (but that's due to me taking coffee breaks...lots of coffee breaks)

it measure about 5-6 inches across and uses a moss stitch and stockinette with some eyelets Smiley
Enjoy.

I think next time to add more structure I'll knit it up double stranded and line it with a pretty fabric...
or I could just line this one up with something pretty and add a bit of structure.

Opinions?

2  COOKING / Dessert / Bob the Builder & Elmo sugar cookies on: September 10, 2012 12:25:29 PM
Back in May I made these cookies for my son & my nephew's birthday party.  It was my first time decorating cookies and working with royal frosting, but they came out pretty well I think.
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / newbie in sewing: reconstructing question on: September 09, 2012 07:04:39 PM
So I have this AWESOME shirt dress that I bought at forever 21 for $2.
As soon as I brought it home, I realized it was wayyy to big for a medium.  there's about 1 inch of extra room across the shoulders and 3 extra inches from the ribs and 2 inches extra around the under arms.

There's pockets on the front, which I kind of like, but I'm thinking of moving them else where.
It's almost a military style shirt dress.
What drives me crazy is the box pleat on the back.
AND there's too many buttons...15 to be exact.

I like to wear things with belts but if I wear this with any sort of belt at all, it poofs out and I look like a hunch back and there's too much fabric that gathers up and poofs up  quite a bit...

Would the best thing be to deconstruct the whole thing??
If there wasn't a box pleat, it wouldn't be such an issue ;\
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Owl shrug...sweater...bolero thing? on: September 09, 2012 06:48:54 PM

Hi there! First post & I'm excited to show you guys this

Here it is, the basic inspiration was from a pattern on ravelry called Abalone.  I made small changes here and there and added the owl panel last minute and decided to use a different shade of grey for the strim.  I love how it came out, but it came out one size too small so I gave it to a smaller friend of mine Wink

Hope you guys like!

I would post an actual image of thing, but I havn't posted enough times! So, there's a link above for ya!
