1  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Can someone set up an embroidery pattern for my sewing machine? on: May 26, 2006 06:38:38 PM
My embroidery machine accepts .pes files.

Would anyone be willing to set up some patterns for me?
All I want are 7 words. (Each separate, so that would be 7 files) in a fancy-ish standard script.
(It's for a gift for my friend whose b-day is late july.)

It seems like it would be easy, but I don't know how to customize text on my machine yet.

I would (gladly) trade stuff (I make some cool stuff) or I could even paypal you.

ps: I apologize if this is in the wrong place
2  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Office Chair upholstored with bedskirt on: December 13, 2005 07:08:00 PM
I got this strange bedspread or tablecloth from a garage sale.
I used it as a bedskirt, but my dog used to get stuck in the fancy trim and ripped it to shreds.

I used the remaining fabric to reupholster an ordinary office chair (and I used the scraps for curtains.)

3  Pennsylvania / Pennsylvania: Northeast / Salvage-Surplus-Junkyards on: October 18, 2005 08:24:46 PM
I just moved here (Allentown/Bethlehem Area) and want to find some good Salvage places and Junkyards.
Someone told me there was a good one somewhere, but I forgot where and don't remember who told me.

I have a lot of time on my hands, and a reliable car, so I wouldn't mind traveling.
Anyone have any recommendations?
4  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Egg Tempera Painting on: October 18, 2005 07:19:37 AM
The Archangel Gabriel.

This is an Egg Tempera Icon. My first. It's not like anything I normally do. (Wait for future posts!)

It's one of the three things I'm most proud of.
5  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / My Easter Island Head Clock Rocks! on: October 18, 2005 06:41:17 AM
This is my Easter Island Head Clock I made for my Tiki Bathroom.
It's carved out of styrofoam, about 15" tall.
Here's a tip: styrofoam blocks are kinda expensive so I bought a big sheet and glued layers together.
The clock I got at CVS. I'm surprised it still works after nearly 2 years.

It looks just like rock in real life.
6  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / Glass Gun on: October 17, 2005 11:56:18 PM

This is a gun I cast out of glass. The mold is made out of sand, that's why it looks dirty. Casting with glass is similar to casting with any other material, only MUCH, MUCH hotter.
When it was done, I had to cut off the overflow (bandsaw). I was warned that it couldn't be done.
