1  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Boxes with Needlework inserts? on: April 25, 2010 06:28:47 AM
I'm looking for an online supplier of boxes, wood or ceramic, that have lids which allow you to insert your own needlework piece.  I'm sorry I don't have a picture to explain... maybe someone knows what I mean??
2  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Seeking picture frame source on: July 26, 2009 08:08:56 AM
I'm seeking a source for very inexpensive picture frames (4x4, wood, black, ideally under $5 each because I need 26 of them!).  I've looked at Ikea, AC Moore, Michaels, did a Google search-- I'm hoping one of my fellow Craftsters knows of a reliable online source for frames at rock bottom prices!

Thanks!
3  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Ideas for Recipes in Jars? on: November 05, 2008 10:55:49 AM
I'm thinking of making food gifts for relatives this year and was thinking of those jars of dry ingredients as a possibility.  Here's two in this post:

Anyone have suggestions for recipes-- soups, cookies, beverages-- that would work well in this jar format?
4  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Craftster Itself / FOC and the buyout on: May 29, 2008 10:17:26 AM
Now that Craftster's been bought out I feel weird renewing my FOC subscription (which expired today and got yanked fast!).  I became an FOC for Leah's sake-- to show appreciation for this one woman show and help support the site.  I was wondering what, if any, advantages there are to renewing now that we've "gone corporate."  I could always wait, I suppose, until some specific FOC advantages are hammered out.  Any thoughts on this?
5  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Help adhering patch to knit? on: November 26, 2007 07:43:08 AM
So, here's the problem: I knit this Harry Potter scarf for my 7yo cousin.  I then bought a Gryffindor patch on ebay and I want to adhere it to the scarf like so:

The patch is too stiff to sew-on to the knit so I need to figure out how to adhere it.  I don't think the patch has an iron-on backing (it has a clear plastic coating on the back which makes it very stiff).  I'm not sure how well ironing-on to knits works anyway.  Any ideas on how to stick this puppy on there?

Here's the back of the patch:

Thanks!
6  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Knitted? Woven? on: October 10, 2007 01:34:13 PM
I love this wrap from vivaterra.com.  It might be something I could do myself but first off I can't tell if this is knitted or woven!  Is it possible, do you think, to achieve that tweed-pattern through knitting?  If so, any suggestions how?
 thanks all!

7  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Craftster Itself / Question about "Image Heavy" posts on: July 29, 2007 08:45:03 AM
Just wondering, are there any rules about image heavy posts?  Is there a point at which a post is considered too image heavy?  I notice some folks like to supplement their posts with multiple views or "action" shots of the crafted item or sometimes just add in pics of their pets or whathaveyou.  I'm not complaining, just curious.
8  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Paper Flower Wreath on: May 29, 2007 04:22:52 AM
I made these flowers out of decorative papers, varnished them, and attached them with pins and pearl seed beads to a styrofoam wreath base which I first wrapped with ribbon.  I love the bright colors.  I may make another one!  Comments, suggestions welcome-- thanks for looking!

9  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / translate Portuguese recipe? on: May 25, 2007 06:37:02 AM
Hi all-- I have a recipe for Portuguese Sweet bread that I would like to have translated into English.  Are there any Portuguese-speaking Craftsters who might be able to help with this?  Here's the only copy of the recipe I have:

Thanks!
10  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Eddie Bauer does crochet on: April 26, 2007 04:46:06 AM
I was surprised to see some decent looking crocheted sweaters on eddiebauer.com.  Too often I find crocheted sweaters are sort of bulky or granny looking but these are not bad at all.  Anyone know of patterns similar to any of these sweaters?
