36  What to do with thick/thin yarn? in Knitting: Discussion and Questions by Mojo on: October 22, 2006 01:15:31 PM
Hi knitters,

I have 400 yards of Cherry Hill cotton yarn in a gorgeous "fall foliage" colorway.  I want to make the most of the yardage and show off the yarn to its best advantage.  I'm thinking some sort of shawl or wrap but I don't have a particular pattern in mind for this kind of yarn.  I would love some suggestions.  The yarn weight is a thick and thin mix (see this link for an example http://www.cherryyarn.com/mohairthick.html) which makes it a bit tricky to gauge.

here's the yarn

thanks for the help!

Here's my finished product.  The photo doesn't do the color justice-- it's really a pretty lime green.

Here's my completed Tank Girl made with Ole cotton/acrylic in bright orange.  I'm really pleased with how this came out, especially after my Skully sweater issues (it didn't fit  Cry).  Excuse the close up of my armpit in this picture!

Here's a pic of my first BBBB made with Koigu.  Note this is before blocking.  The colors are really intense (definitely for an ultra hip and funky mom and baby-- no pastels here!).

sorry for the huge picture!
