11  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Harry Potter OotP shirt...ideas and quote, please? on: August 16, 2005 09:21:50 PM
Move this if this isn't in the right place, mods. We have so many forums anymore that I don't know what is most appropriate.

ANyway Smiley. I just got the idea to paint my own rendition of the American Order of the Phoenix cover onto a blue shirt. Something simplified but witht he same spirit as the original. In the space where the title would go, I'd like to have a quote or a saying, but I'm at a loss. I find it particularly amusing how Harry is so angry in this one, so I'm thinking something along the lines of, "Whoa, someone's pissy!" but funnier and more relative. Other ideas are welcome, and you can see the full cover here:http://www.the-leaky-cauldron.org/images/2003/03/HarryPotterPhoenixAmerican.jpg for reference, if you like.

So, any ideas Smiley
12  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Boring, pink, and tiered - what would you do? on: August 15, 2005 07:34:29 PM
I bought a pink tiered skirt at Alko ( and apparently local wholesale store) but it's kind of dull and I'm looking for some ideas to spice it up. I don't have a digital camera but visuals are always more interesting so I drummed this up and made it about the same color:

Neh, nothing special but it's comfortable and the price was pretty good.

So, any ideas? I'm not a super sewer but I can do some embellishments and I'm a fine artist (I guess that's what you'd call me, anyway Tongue).
13  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Harry Potter Swap Part III? on: August 07, 2005 12:04:00 PM
The last HP swap came around about the same time I joined Craftster. Ever since then I've been on the prowl, waiting and yearning for another one to start up - but it hasn't Undecided. So I thought I'd give everyone a nudge back in the Potter direction Wink. I would organize myself but I have yet to actually participate in a swap and am afraid that I would screw things up. I'm just here to get the ideas rolling  Wink.
For this swap we could expand on ideas expressed in past ones and come up with some new ones. I think it will important that people who have read HBP and those who haven't should be noted to avoid spoiling the new book's plot for anyone.

So, anyone interested Huh?

15  CRAFTSTER CRAFT CHALLENGES / Craftster Craft Challenge Theme Ideas, Etc. / Duct Tape Bag Challenge? on: July 26, 2005 11:45:52 AM
I know tons of us crafty kids have done it, but why not make it more challenging? Basically the idea of the challenge would be to see who could make the most creative and wearable purse, clutch, tote, or bookbag, etc. The great thing about this is that duct tape is realtively cheap and easy to find and the creator can make something that s/he will truly enjoy.
Any takers Smiley?
16  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / A gift for a friend who's cat just died. on: June 22, 2005 02:37:58 PM
Hello! A friend of mine's cat, Dexter, just died the other day. I feel horrible for my friend, especially since he had to put another cat to sleep only about a month or two ago. I feel like I should do something for him in addition to offering my condolences but I can't think of anything that doesn't seem cheesy or overly sentimental. I just want to give him something simple that will let him know that I care and that will cheer him up.
If you have any ideas I will greatly appreciate them!
17  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Anti-depression in a Box??? on: June 22, 2005 01:01:39 AM
Any ideas? Nothing too cheesy or "turn that frown upside down!" It might help if you could tell me what sort of things make you feel better when you're depressed/upset.
18  Pennsylvania / Pennsylvania: Southeast / What shops should I visit in Philly? on: June 22, 2005 12:20:59 AM
Depending upon the health of a relative, I may or may not being going to Philadelphia the second week of July. If I do, though, I don't want to miss anything! Are there any stores I absolutely have to go to while I'm in town? Do you have any favorite hotspots? Nothing too out there (I'm going with my parents and my aunt and uncle, after all), but cool.

Oh, and I have limited finances, so it'll be great if you could tell me about places with good bargains Wink!
19  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / My "This is NOT a Party" Party on: May 17, 2005 03:21:08 PM
Wow! My first new topic! I feel all tingly inside Grin Wink

Well, here's the gist - my birthday just happens to fall right smack in the middle of finals week at school. Last year I had a Victorian Faerie Tea Party the weekend following the tests and was really stressed out with all the party and school work.
My memory of all that stress combined with my just being fed up with always being the one to have the party has birthed a new idea: The "This Is NOT a Party" Party.
The plan is to have a sort of open house on the saturday before my birthday (I'm turning 16, btw). I'll stay in my pajamas all day and put in one childish video after the other all day long (George of the Jungle, A Chipmunk Adventure, Tiny Toons: How I Spent My Summer Vacation...). The food will probably be movie/junk food staples such as chips, dip, popcorn, rasinettes, etc, plus cake later in the day.
I'm going to handout invites with the time, date, and movie schedule for the day, and anyone can show up at whatever time, for a certain movie or for the whole day. This way people can either stop by or hang out the entire day.

I post this now, however, just incase anyone has any cute ideas. Like I said, I'm tired of stressing myself out, but I don't mind having a couple of crafts going before the non-party Wink. The themes are childhood and the non-party.
