3  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Re: Halloween costume ideas for 2008 on: September 28, 2008 07:06:02 PM
Hey, guys! I read through all 16 pages: awesome costume ideas!

For a while I had been thinking about being either a(n awesome) ghost or a person in black&white.
For the ghost I was thinking I could dress all in white or light shades of grey, wearing a fancy white up-do wig, white face paint, an old-timey white dress, white gloves, white stockings, and white shoes.
Or, for someone in black and white, I was taking my inspiration from the movie Pleasantville. I was thinking thinking I could wear a black or  - preferably - dark grey wig, light grey face paint, some sort of 50s style dress in more shades of grey, gloves, etc.

BUT now I don't think I'm going to go with either. I'm taking a costume design class at school and our next assignment is to do a costume that's somehow Renaissance inspired. Well, Renaissance up to 1799, in Europe, which spans a lot of styles. It doesn't have to be authentically Renaissance, just influenced by it in some way. So now I'm thinking about being either a super-amazing green and blue faerie with gauntlets and Renaissance sleeves or a Robot with antique details. I'm kind of wary about the faerie because I've been one for Halloween about 3 times (though not in recent years), but I'd really like to do it right. Being a robot is kind of generic but that's sort of the point, I guess, to take something ordinary and make it awesome. But either way the costume will only be as awesome as my imagination, skills, and time allow and I'm a bit worried, especially concerning those two last factors.
I hope I inspired someone. Anybody got any ideas for me?

Later could still work out for me. Especially since my internet access is kind of unstable right now.
Yep, this sounds like fun ^_^.

Wow! I'm glad to see some interest! Sign-ups mid-January, send-outs early March? Is that good for everyone?

Hmm. I'd personally prefer a sign up slightly earlier (like the second week of January?) since I start back school on the 23rd and I'm nervous about my workload this semester.
If a later send out works better for everyone else, though, I still might be up for it. This sounds like it will be a lot of fun ^_^.

So I guess we should change this swap to the "Fairy Tale Swap 2" (3?) since there were some other  swaps previously?
