1  NEEDLEWORK / Sublime Stitching Embroidery / Re: Sublime Onesies on: October 20, 2008 09:15:43 AM
i have never really care for the stabilizer unless it is sticky!  i just can never get it to stay put, you know?

and with the super stretch of the baby onesies, as opposed to just a tee shirt, i would not even try to ever make one without sticky kind ever!

and the stitches will come, once you get the feel for it...i just kept in mind to never make long ones because baby's hve tiny fingers and tend to touch and feel their face and chest a lot, so i kept my stitches on the smaller side for them!

i have made a that's how i roll onesie before for friends!

i always get huge laughs from them! though not ones with strollers!

quite lovely, but when i work with onesies, it is so much stretchier then regular tee shirt material.  I prefer to use the sticky stabilizer and a smaller hoop.

sure thing...and a dead show is a grateful dead show...a band who played until jerry garcia died in 1995...now i feel really old...but us gals and some guys would make and sell all kinds of items, clothes, jewelry, food, you name it, it was our own traveling craft circus really and how we paid our way place to place, well how some paid...

many years ago I used to make mushrooms and such and sold them at dead shows...one of the ones I made was an earth, so I got all crafty and decided to make earrings to go with it, so I made an earth with a core of molton lava, and then cut the globe in half and made each side an earring!

so much fun and people loved them!

maybe I will have to go back and make them again!

8  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / resin types on: February 11, 2008 06:09:13 PM
Hey all...

I really have a few new things I am wanting to try and resin jewelry is one of them!

So, my questions are

- what is the best type of resin to use for jewelry making (pendants and bracelets)?

- where can these be found for a good price for quantity and not lose on quality?  Can I go to home depot or lowes and get really good resin and make with that?

- is there anything I really need to watch out for?  dangerous stuff?

thanks a bunch!
