1  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Crochet Pattern Preferances on: June 18, 2013 04:42:43 PM
Hi, I've been thinking about selling patterns online. I was wondering if I can sell patterns without pictures, like the only picture is of what the final product would look like. Or do I have to have step by step pics. Would people prefer picture heavy patterns? I'd like to hear your personal preferences please Smiley
2  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Crochet Cupcake Dress on: June 17, 2013 04:10:09 PM

Sweet treat that now I can wear!
I made this cupcake dress for my love of the colorful and tasty dessert, and as a personal challenge. This is the largest item I've ever crocheted, and it took me a week to complete. It was made completely from scratch, no pattern used for any part.

The cherry/whipped cream is only tied to the strap since I couldn't decide if I liked it permenatly attached or not. The sprinkles were made from pink glass beads that were sewn on. Also there is a pink ribbon weaved between stitches under the bust.

Fits like a glove!

Thanks for looking Smiley

Assembly

Rnd 5-6. Sc 20. Sl st and FO, and weave in tail. Repeat Rnd1-6 for second heart half, Do NOT cut after second half!
Rnd 7. Holding both heart halves side by side, Sc through both halves for 4 stitches, then continue to Sc around one half then the next. There should be 34 sc total.
Rnd 8-13. The next few rounds are kind of freehand, but you need to 2tog four times for the next six rounds. The best way to do this is 2tog at the beginning of the rnd, the left side, in the front center, and the right side. When you are done, there should be about 10 sc left. Next we will be adding the wire.

1. Cut the wire about 10 inches, and a piece of yarn the same color about 8 inches
2. Push the wire through the arm that will be holding the balloon. Make sure it goes all the way through
3. Insert the other end of the wire through the heart, pushing through the top of the heart and leaving about a centimeter or two
4. Wrap the exposed wire in yarn, leaving two loose ends
5. With scissors, jewelry tools, or by hand, fold the wire into the heart securely
6. With a yarn needle, sew and tie the loose yarn ends into the heart
7. Stuff the heart lightly, make sure the wire can hold it
8. 2tog the bottom of the heart around the wire. Then leave a tail and sew around the wire until very tightly around it
9. Take a long piece (about arm’s length) of the White Worsted Weight Size 3 yarn. Tie it to the wire, right under the heart balloon. Tightly wrap the yarn to cover the wire.
10. When reaching the animal arm, sew the yarn end through the animal arm, then continue wrapping the wire to the end. Don’t cut the yarn
11. Loop the wire around the animal’s arm then fold the wire into the arm securely. With the excess yarn, sew around the wire to help it maintain its place. Weave end into arm and cut.
12. You’re all done!

I hope you enjoy and make someone's day brighter :)
5  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Discussion and Questions / Joined abd Spiral Rounds Help on: May 20, 2013 06:47:02 AM
I want to share a pattern of an amigurumi bunny I've made. When creating the original pattern I used joined rounds. I was wondering if the same pattern could be used if someone did spirals? Or do i have to make a whole seperate pattern?

8  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Gameboy Color Pouch on: May 13, 2013 02:02:54 PM
When I was growing up I was completely in love with my purple Gameboy Color! I still feel like at that time gaming was at its best, but perhaps I'm just feeling like all the other obnoxious "90's Kids" of my generation.  Grin
I couldn't help paying tribute to my beloved Gameboy Color, so I crocheted a little pouch!

Ironically it can't hold a Gameboy Color, but it fits a Nintendo DS lite like a glove

I had a little trouble sewing the fabric, and admit it looks a little sloppy. I hope to make another one that is a bit neater and possibly a little larger.

In the meantime, it works great! :3
9  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / The Raveonettes look-alikes on: May 13, 2013 01:56:32 PM
One day my friend asked me to make him dolls of his favorite band, The Raveonettes. After creating a pattern I was pleased with, I finally made him the two members

Sharin

and Sune

Here's was the picture I used for inspiration:

It was really fun and the first time I had to make custom dolls based off real people!  It was challenging at first, but I like the results and my friend is more than thrilled  Cheesy
10  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Bow and Suits the Dancing Penguins on: October 17, 2012 03:43:25 PM
I was seriously lacking inspiration for fall themed amigurumi. So I skipped ahead to winter and made this chilly pair:

They each have removable accessories too Smiley

They were easy to crochet, the annoying part was sewing on the felt, I'll admit its not my favorite part. The little felt hearts on their heads is my signature I use for whatever I make using this specific pattern. I made Bow to be a ballerina while Suits a tap dancer (yea its kind of Happy Feetish, but come on, tap dancing penguins is cute!)

Thanks for looking  Cheesy
