21  Cross stitch patterns/pic of my first project in Needlework: Completed Projects by Chelsea on: May 29, 2005 11:46:59 AM
I've been having a hard time finding cross stitch patterns I actually like for myself.  It's easy finding ones I'd like to make for other people - the picture and finished piece is beautiful, but it's just not my style.   I tried using an online chart generator - but it came out to be 25 pages long!  Shocked  I think I need to play with that a little bit hehe.

Anyway.  Here's my first completed x-stitch project - although I did finish it about a year ago, I just got it scanned.   Still need to get it cleaned, ironed and framed...but hey at least I FINISHED something!   Grin

A funny story behind this though - I needed a new project to work on, so i called my mom to see if she wanted to go to craft stores with me.  I went into the bathroom before my mom got to my apt and saw my cat sprawled across the bathtub with his head down trying to drink out of the faucet...he's never done this before.   I thought "Too bad I can't get a camera fast enough for this" and then left.  We were looking through the cross stitch kits at Hobby Lobby and saw some black cat ones.  (yay!! both of my cats are black cats and I've always loved anything w/ black cats on them).  Most of the charts were computer related, which was cute, but eh, then I saw a pattern of a cat doing what Loki was JUST doing before I left!   I had to get it.   This is exactly what I saw that day before we went to the store (minus the sink).    Smiley

22  Re: Embroidery floss organizer in Needlework: Discussion and Questions by Chelsea on: May 20, 2005 02:58:12 PM
I just use these little ziploc bags that go on a ring and I can write the number of the color on the bag. I'm still working on getting all my floss organized...by the time I organize what I have, I'll have a whole new batch to organize.

what do you mean? could you show a picture of that?

I use the same thing.  I tried to scan one of mine, but my computer "Couldn't find scanner"  (it's right there, stupid thing)   Grin    I'll try to get a picture up.

EDIT: Finally got it to work   Smiley
