21  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Get Product and Website Opinions / Re: Hand Painted Acrylic Nails - Fade Designs on: July 27, 2012 05:29:03 PM
Seriously?
22  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Get Product and Website Opinions / Hand Painted Acrylic Nails - Fade Designs on: July 27, 2012 01:37:13 PM
These are some fake nails I have in my etsy shop. There isn't a ton yet, because I just recently started making them, but I have a lot of other design ideas in mind for them. Any critiques, or suggestions for color combinations and design patterns, are greatly appreciated  Smiley

Any stumbleupon users here?

Sellers who have great follow-up. Smiley

*If I make a purchase and a seller then later (even after feedback has been exchanged), contacts me to see if I am pleased with my purchase, that says they want my input as well as return business.

*This week I received a holiday card from someone I bought from, and inside was a discount for a purchase. That is something special to spend the money to send out, not to mention keep track of addresses for mailing.

Both of these shops will be seeing me again.

I really like the idea of the holiday cards : )

I think I might give it a try.

Lots of great advice in this thread.

I use:

wordpress
facebook
twitter
pinterest
stumble upon
deviant art
etsy teams

I need to do more though I think because I've only had one sale in the past 6 months.

I think youtube is something that might be ideal for some sellers but probably not that good for others.
I sell vinyl record bowls, jewelry and hand painted acrylic nails in my shop. I've thought about making a youtube channel to boost interest and views in my shop but I can't think of a way in which it would really help. On the one hand, I would get more people to see my stuff, but on the other hand, I would also be instructing people on how to make what I'm trying to sell, which might give them more incentive to just make their own, instead of buying from my shop.

I have bunches of un loved items : (

I have quite a few of these unique and useful record bowls:

Some beautiful earrings:

And some really cute acrylic nails that I hand paint:

I wish they would find a good home, because they're starting to take up a lot of space in my apartment  Undecided

I've been working pretty hard on promoting myself, and trying to learn all of the fancy new 'search engine optimization' since about May of this year (I had made another attempt a year or so ago and even though I didn't try very hard I got 6 sales within about a week, and then everything came to a dead hault) but so far things haven't been going that great I've been getting okay views, but it doesn't seem like I'm getting as many as I should be for the effort I put in, and in the time that I've been working my butt off, I've made one sale, and in the end lost money on it because of shipping, and my etsy bill  Tongue
