I made very nice envelopes from some beautiful vellum I had from a printmaking class in college. I mean we're talking some of this really high end vellum from utrecht art supplies. They came out so wonderful. I'll have to try it with some less expensive kinds and see how it turns out. I don't think you need terribly expensive supplies, but it worked really well with that particular kind.

Here's what I have so far, I'm a little behind so seeing everyone else's ideas has been really helpful, so thank you!

1. General Christmas Necessities:

Ornaments:
I love these twine ornaments from Pinterest, they have this beautiful rustic feel and look pretty simple to make.

I typically also get some new ornaments from Pottery Barn or something every year because they are so pretty and between the DD and my clumsiness, we always manage to break a few through out the holidays. These beaded ornaments are beautiful

Holiday Cards:

I tried making them last year and while they came out pretty nice, it just took way too long. I'm cheating and going back to old faithful, christmas cards from Shutterfly. I haven't decided which ones, but I am loving these striped cards at the moment.

2. The hubbie
New sunglasses (he broke his really expensive pair last month)
Possibly this nice charbroil grill from amazon, I feel a little weird giving it to him in the winter, but oh well.

3. My Daughter
Clothes
Ballet shoes and probably some other dance attire from Dancewear. Really good site for dance accessories.

4. My Sister
5. My Parents
6. His Parents

These are the important ones anyhow. This was a good idea to get me thinking about this, because before you know it, the holidays are here. I have much more work to do! Can't wait to see more ideas!

That is such a good idea! My worst habit is that I just snack when I'm bored or doing something mindless. Having to fill out a piece of paper every time I want a snack may get me to stop! I try to keep lots of fresh, interesting fruits and veggies in the fridge. So if I do want a snack, I have some strawberries or a plum or something. I try to follow this list from Fitday. I'm just such a snacker, its so hard to stop! haha!
