1181  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: OTT October Holidays 6 GALLERY on: October 08, 2014 05:33:17 PM
I received a gentle earth mother in the mail....or is she. Aluraceleste says Bathsheba was inspired by the Conjuring and even though she looks gentle, behind her mask she is evil at the core! And she is, she's already cursed the cats and scared off all the monsters in my craft room. Yikes! She has a amazingly scary face, creepy hands, killer boots and is dressed in the latest scraps. Her hat is wonderful. I want one in my size.

Take a look at the hands and face. It's her first art doll. Keep making them aluraceleste, she is wonderful.

Aren't ATC's fun and addictive?

Still my favorite. I think my grandson has my copy right now. Must get another!

My partner and I agreed to small extras and I have one done. Just received the final item for another and the main little ninni is all cut out and ready to assemble. And probably no time until next week to finish up. Ah well....We have time.

I was wondering if you can elaborate on your closing?

You mean the buttons? I anchored a loop of elastic cord with a small stick on on the roof to pull down and loop over the button. Same on the side of the house. I had to really think about how to secure the roof and the front corner. It worked, but it is a bit fussy to button up.

1187  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Wicked Witch of the Forest....Beware! on: October 07, 2014 02:12:28 PM
In the OTT October Holiday swap www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=435848.0, I got caught up in a mad witche's house. I could not stop. Here's the little witch. She's less than 3" tall and was made with a skull bead and a wire armature. This is a very first for a polymer clay figure. Rather proud. The house is here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=436086.msg5250742#msg5250742

Didn't I say the OTT meant Over The Top? I got started and could not stop. Make potion bottles out of beads and clay, built a bookcase/cabinet, built a fireplace and a cauldron, built a table. Even built a witch! She's made of of polymer clay over a skull bead and wire armature. I had never ever done anything like that before. She's quite cute! I kept adding details until I boxed it up and sent it. Just to stop me! It had to find a new home as I have no room to display.

More pics here. http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=436086.msg5250742#msg5250742

Be careful wandering the woods this time of year, especially if you come upon a tiny weathered cottage, approach very carefully. This was made for the OTT October Holiday swap: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=435848.0

The house is all buttoned up so you can view the outside. There are vines, bats, a chimmney made from egg carton, tomb stones and moss.

But as you unbutton it and lift the roof, all kinds of magical items appear. Potions and skulls, books and candles, caldrons and churns. Her cape and broom wait by the door

This is the starting point, I wanted it to open up and be sturdy, hence the double floor. I was able to keep it flat until the very end. Made it much easier to decorate.

The pictures are great. Glad you love it. Have fun brewing up some evil potions...for good of course.

It looks like it came through the mail perfectly. I really did a job packaging this one up...I wanted no crushed houses ala Wizard of Oz house landing on anything. Whew.
