"She says the flower is 'pounded', something I have never heard of before and will have to try. I love pounding!  It would feel weird, tho, to pound such a tender and pretty thing. I love the muti-media in this. Thank you, Cmarion3!"

Yes, you take a flower or sprig of leaves. Then cover with fabric or paper and pound away. The color is transfered to the fabric. There is special fabric for this, but I've used plain, washed muslin and it works. The colors tend to age if you do not treat them, but very cool and a great way to get out your fustration...see this link for more info or Google "pounding flowers".

Thank you...I'm glad the theme fit reality for once.

I love my mailbox again! The anticipation is fun too.

Just received my first March ATC from SonjaBoo. A wonderful card to feed my caffeine addiction! It includes vintage sewing pattern background, dictionary bit, clip art and embellishments! It came in a beautiful envelop as well.

Now you can start your own set of layers. Great job. I've done the staple pull thing myself. There is a reason they use staples. They hold!

Now you will have a very elegant dining room set. Watch it, you may want to recover the couches next!

What a fabulous guy! Anyone that is that comfortable with themselves is a keeper.

Fantastic outfit, fun, comfy and would look great at the grocery store!

When I was just a lass and my mother took me shopping for my first, very own, sewing kit, I loved my pin cushion. It was a tomato with a little emery bag in the shape of a strawberry attached (tomatoes and strawberries?). It made me feel like a real semptress. I still have the poor faded, lopsided, ratty thing hidden away in a drawer. So sad.

So this is a wonderful opportunity!

Happy pin cushioning.

Keep at it, gently, unrelentingly, neighborly. They will come around if only in self-defense!

The ornament is beautiful!

Oh yes, oh yes. Those darned seed catalogs start coming now in Dec! Before Christmas! Torchure!

We have learned to wait until April to start warm weather crops here in Connecticut....they get too leggy otherwise. And usually the kale recovers and sprouts some new leaves all on its own. But yes, I am jonesin' for dirt beneath my nails.

Tomatoes, peppers, every kind of kale available, peas, beans....oh! I could plant peas. They wait and wait and then pop up early. Yum. And the garlic is popping up. Hope we don't get any really vicious cold days.

I claim SunnyDawn for Emotions/Feelings (no word on the front, just in title on the back, kid appropriate, making a game for the kids I work with)

I am Carol living in cold 'ol Connecticut...but spring is coming. The crocus are poking their heads up, but not quite brave enough to come out.

I love gardening, veggies in particular, I mean why do all that work if you cannot eat it?Huh I love the outdoors, camping, hiking. Music, singing, biking, baking. I am a homebody and love crafting. Latest project is a new sparkling clean craft room! Right now it is covered in sawdust and dropcloths. I love cats!

My list:
something to display in my craft room
cats
veggie gardening
quotes from old movies
monsters
fairy tale references or characters
artsy fartsy cards (fine art with a bang)
mixed media...especially if it contains something from the kitchen
re-purposing a common object
steampunk
books or book pages used in art
small furry critters not necessarily of this earth
coffee quotes and references and coffee stains
tea bags
goddesses of the earthy practical kind...goddess of crafters, goddess of chocolate, etc.
1950 teddy bears

Enjoy!
