Wile E Songdog, I see you are the type to tear into packages! I had fun painting the snow leopard, glad you love her.  I can post pics of the covers when I find them on my camera.

Have fun redesigning your room. It took me a lifetime to give myself a room to create in. Moving my messy craft hole from upstairs to downstairs made a big difference. Besides gaining more space, I can walk in anytime and create, or check the progress on drying paint.

Light and tables and storage are the big keys! Enjoy. And don't forget to hang fun things on the walls.

I love the zombie and the stitched "bleeped" word. And the ukelele takes me to the islands!

The shelves were pine from an unfinished store and had been sitting around for almost 10 years waiting to be painted and installed. Whew. A lot of thought and rearranging and gathering of stuff went into this room and a year and a half later, I still love it, but need an extension on the house! Too much stuff. But I keep adding shelves and wall decorations:

Oh, I like the the one about using your kitchen for crafting (handy sink for wash up and fridge for snacks!). Just move a microwave and an electric kettle to the craft room or living room! Cool.

Now, can I sell that to my sweetie? She's doing woodworking in the living room right now...he he.

I too tend to use anywhere to craft. But since we built out a room for sewing and crafting, I work there most the time.

So take a hard look at your craft room. Do you like being there, or is it just habit that takes you to another room. What might be getting in your way of working there?

Are all your toys (craft items, pens, xacto knives, fabric, glue, etc.) convenient to use? It may take some rearranging to get everything as you like it and you may change your mind over time. I rearranged the storage in my craft room after a year. Well, I had pretty much destroyed the original configuration anyway. It works much  better now. Gather all your crafts and craft tools into your craft area. Use lots of bins (clear is best) and boxes (shoe boxes are great). I have several cans of pens and tools. I used an old medicine cabinet for craft paint. Add shelves and bulletin boards (several layers of cardboard or rigid insulation covered in fabric work well.)

Is there enough light. Get more lamps, string holiday lights, lay a few more extension cords and power strips.

Do you have enough counter space? Look for an old table, card table, desk, board on file cabinets or saw horses. And is the counter space the right height. We installed a 6 foot piece of left over counter at standard counter height. It's my favorite place to craft. I can stand, move about and it gave me lots of bin storage underneath.

Are you lonely there? Invite your kids, spouse, pet, someone, to keep you company. Or turn on the radio or tv or stream some music on your computer.

And sometimes you need to use that kitchen counter or dining room table. Just remember to clean up after.....that's the hardest part!

PS: Or, you could use that handy room to store all your stuff when you are not using it elsewhere!

cmouse01: "I haven't updated in a while, but I think this brings me up to 57 projects for the year.  Yippee!"

How can you even count? My math skills go out the window when I craft. I'm so focused on the project and finishing it that I just go on to the next...no counting! Though, I'm pretty sure I'm at or over 50...see not counting makes estimating so much easier.

Congratulations!

I hate it when the casting folks have a "type". Then all the men or the women in a pic look alike. Argggg......

I wish I looked that good with straggly hair and a beard (oops, I better pluck those hairs again.)
