11  Craft Swaps / ACTIVE SWAPS WHERE SIGN-UP PERIOD HAS CLOSED / Re: Geezers Alive and Kicking, Round 6 (SO by Jan 24, Send by Mar 31) on: January 23, 2015 04:32:11 PM
What a bunch of geezers we are...over thinking everything. Cheesy

I do hope that when we get partners the rules can be clarified for us based on some of the comments popping up. Especially for us double geezer types...any triples out there?

It would be fun to see how we do stack up age wise, but then, that would be telling.

Hi Cmarion!  What rules do you need clarified?  I tried to address the ones that Averia had.  If there are others let's talk about it!

Yay!  Welcome Lindy!!

LOL I was just bein' a geezer. Sorry. If I actually have any questions, I will certainly ask. Thank you.

I'm back to the drawing board for all items. SO is getting closer and I really have nothing to show for it. So, it's going to snow all day tomorrow, good excuse to dig around in all the dusty corners of my craft room for ideas.

Would steam help remove the label?

Might. Let's see, steam bath and cold beer. I'm up for it.

I love the simple and to the point ones. They always amaze me and are often the best. OK, I think I need to take my own advice here.

To the question of how did I get the label off....I was lucky, this was printed on a clear plastic label stock and peeled off in one piece. I'm sitting here staring at a Rogue River (Oregon), Dead Guy Ale bottle and wondering how to get off a paper label. I'll start with soaking, but it may fall apart. I'll let you know if I'm successful. If not, drink another and try again. Andy suggestions?

....... but in my experience, none of the local breweries make labels anywhere near that fancy/artistic.

I've been lucky to live in two areas that go in for craft beers. Portland, OR and now New England. Many areas have local breweries that are quite creative. I'm guessing that since these beers usually cost more and draw a little higher income crowd that the cast offs by the side of the road are not the prettier bottles. Grin

I was actually amazed at the creative labels at the local package shop. It was a hard decision...really cool label plus drinkability. I won on this one. And I don't go to bars anymore either. Hanging with a different crowd in my twilight years.

Like this, suereal... Smiley

The are a couple dollars at craft stores usually.

Quality varies on these....the Crayola brand is pretty good. I always check the school/kids supplies in craft and dollar stores, some pretty cool stuff there for reasonable prices.

The label was just too beautiful and the beer was awesome. Unfortunately, it's a bit out of my price range for everyday imbibing. I did share it with my DW.

And hey..it folds to the proper size!!!! LOL. Enjoy
