I think I am finished as well....I will have to let it sit and then take another look. Is anything ever really finished? I do like it. Do I have time to keep this one and make another?Huh?? Just teasing.

14  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Another ODU bag....for mom! on: July 19, 2015 05:33:25 PM
I finished the ODU bag for my DIL. It's made out of her husbands old uniforms and I wanted to keep as much of the Coast Guard identity as possible. The fabric is very tough and when you have several layers, it gets tricky, even with the proper needle and my new Pfaff! The lining is batik, with pockets inside too.

Here's the link to my grandson's string back pack. I filled it with summer fun. http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=439789.msg5321199#msg5321199

I'll be shipping the two off tomorrow.

And the happy recipients.

I have half a dozen crafting scissors all over the house too...and can never find a pair. Why is it easier to keep track of one item than six? And where do they go? And why do they all turn up at once...after you don't need them any more?

Deep questions...I'd better get started on my fabulous dotee idea for my fabulous partner.

Finally found my decent fabric scissors so can get started tomorrow.

Lost your fabric scissors! Glad you found them. I guard my fabric scissors fiercely....but then sometimes grab them for the wrong thing....yipes. Can't do anything without the proper scissors.

18  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Retro clothing and accessories projects plus some geekery too... on: July 11, 2015 03:47:33 PM
Wow, wonderful skirts and that blouse is so flattering. It must be fun to make things for yourself that fit perfectly. That's what I love about sewing. Now I just need to get motivated to stitch for myself.

Did anybody else notice that the swap info says,
"Date to send bone by: July 31"?
Should make for some interesting dotees.   Wink

Hmm...and it's not even Halloween....Bone Dotees from around the World. He He.

I've been dealing with swap withdrawal. We veggie garden and that takes up a lot of time. But we are in a lull right now, things growing, weeds moderately under control and not too much produce at the moment. That will change of course as soon as I sign up for a swap. Oh, and I won't mention the multitude of picnics and events everyone schedules just 'cause it's summer!

But I have just enough time before the big vacation to sneak in a little dotee....my first official dotee, but then the definition for dolls is pretty loose.

This theme sounds fun...I'm sending in my Q. I've been stalking the galleries all year.
