1  A Paper Christmas in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Alabee on: December 15, 2012 04:34:42 AM
So I stumbled across this tutorial at Homemade Mamas (http://www.homemademamas.net/2012/11/day-1-magazine-christmas-tree.html) and decided that, since I was about to throw out a magazine, this year I'd make a paper tree.

I made the "tinsel" out of the magazine's thicker cover, which are just consentina-ed strips which I then straightened out a little.

The topper is a giant lucky star held in place by a little bit of wire.

Once I finally learned how to make lucky stars (tutorial:http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-make-lucky-paper-stars/) I went a touch crazy with them and now the poor tree's surrounded.

Thank you everyone for the lovely comments. They've really made my day! Cheesy

2  Little Cthulhu and Friend in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by Alabee on: October 19, 2012 11:37:41 PM
It was a friends birthday recently and way waaay back when we first met she mentioned that she wanted a stuffed Cthulhu for her birthday and her favourite animal is the giraffe. So she ended up with these little darlings.

I also thought that the all devourer looked a little lonely

so I made to keep he/she/it company

Although they do play a little rough sometimes (maybe Cthulhu was hungry rather than lonely?)

they really are great friends.

And here is an "arty" picture of one of Cthulhu's wings.

I kind of used this tutorial, although I changed the tentacles, arms and wings.
