1  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Beary Sweet Dress on: August 25, 2007 07:02:09 AM
So my nieces are asking for clothes for their Bears and Doggies (the kind that you build, stuff and dress in the mall...); and I have been trying to learn clothing construction. I've done a way off-guage jacket so far and recently finished this:

It's based on this pattern:
http://www.christinascrochethaven.com/peach_delight_baby_doll_dress.htm
Please do not repost her pattern elsewhere on the web; see her site for copyright information.

It was very easy to make, and the instructions were clear. There are also instructions for panties which I didn't make this time. I shortened the length because I was running out of yarn and wanted to add a ruffle to the sleeves. The dress is very sparkly; the pink has a shiny cello thread in it, and the white is Caron Christmas glitter with silver (lurex? I lost the label.) The back has buttons made with pink hair elastics and clear bubbles.
2  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / ISO pattern paper punched heart with crochet edging on: February 07, 2007 08:40:58 AM
I know this should be simple enough for me to figure out, but I'm sure I saw a pattern online for a paper heart cut from cardstock, with holes punched along the edge about 1/4" apart and a crocheted border attached.
Roght now I'm using a g hook and regular worsted acrylic and doing sc, ch in each hole. It buckles around the round part and looks loose on the straight part. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I want to make 24 of these for a class project!
3  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / fiber question - new to this board on: January 22, 2007 06:12:30 PM
I usually am on the crochet board, but thought someone here could help me determine (partially) the content of some thrifted yarn. I'm pretty sure if it takes a kool-aid dye (the yarn is pale yellow, and a bulky weight) then it has wool or nylon. Is there any other diy method to narrow it down or test for other fiber? I think acrylic would melt if held to a candle flame, but I can't think of any others.
Thanks in advance for your help.
4  HOME SWEET HOME / Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Discussion and Questions / half glazed ceramic fish on: November 29, 2004 08:38:19 PM
Hollow, to use as a planter (think big wide mouth) with the bottom left unglazed for use in a pond garden - can be propped with rocks for the right height. "Fish out of water"
5  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / fancy treasure envelope on: November 29, 2004 08:26:21 PM
About the size of a greeting card envelope, mottled brown exterior (leatherlike but more stylized). Stiff cardstock, gusset(?) the sides to fold inward paper bag style. Interior lined with black or chocolate velvet/velour (thrift shop score? check buttons there too) Top flap with string/button closure(?), gold shank style button fastened on the inside with a med jump ring which attaches to more rings, slivery cascading stars, sequins inside that greet you when you open it. Functional, can be used as a keepsake box, photo holder, or made larger for a few pieces of stationery and a nice pen.
6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / cell phone strap thingy on: June 29, 2004 08:53:35 AM
has anyone tried to make these yet? I figure I need some jewelery findings and strong nylon ( I want to make the kind that loop through your phone, not the type that attach to the antenna...) plus cute beads and charms. Any help/suggestions appreciated.
