1  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: A Green Idea Chain Game 2010 on: July 30, 2012 09:51:05 AM
1. You can glue them to the outside of glass candle holders (such as in the link) to make rustic candle holders. http://www.homedit.com/beautiful-diy-wood-sticks-candle-holders/

2. You could make a star burst wreath or a star burst mirror.  Maybe spray paint them silver for a cool futuristic look.

3. You could use some of them to make antlers on a deer sculpture, if you're sculpturally inclined.

4. Oh! and what I did with the small twigs was use them for the base of God's Eyes. http://gingerbreadsnowflakes.com/node/73  I love how this person beads hers. I'm planning to do this when I get more yarn.  I already have the beads, monofilament and twigs!

OK, now...what can I do with old blankets?
2  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Re: Potions & Nightlock on: July 25, 2012 06:18:47 AM
Very cute. I am currently in the process of making large potions for the BF to have for Cosplay at Cons. So far I have a health potion, a double manna potion and several small jars waiting to be filled with potions of his choice.

So glad to see a like-minded crafter on here!

...Gotta catch 'em all!

So I made this hat for my boyfriend who likes Pokemon a lot.  I used acrylic paint, so we'll see how long it holds up.  Oh,and I hand embroidered the logo.

Here it is on my lovely assistant.

You could make flowers with it by using one of those spikey flower maker things (flower loom?).][http://www.amazon.com/Knifty-Knitter-Inch-Flower-Loom/dp/B001685KAA]

You could also weave placemats by alternating the shiny and matte sides...like shiny going up/down and matte going left/right.  You could, say, spray glue it on an ugly placemat or onto cardboard or something to give it some substance.

Roll the magazine pages from corner to corner, then use the rolls to decorate any number of things. I'm currently in the planning stages of decorating a hope chest with them.  I'd love to share when I'm done with it!  Hope this gives you the inspiration you need to rid yourself of those hundreds of magazines!

Remove the rotted sections and use them as a nifty headboard. ][http://vernon-nj.inetgiant.com/items-for-sale/furniture/classic-style-picketfence-headboard-4558750]  That one costs $137, but yours could be made simply for the cost of the paint and nails.  :-)

Let's see...what can I do with about two dozen glass shot glass sized candle holders with some small bits of wax and wick left in them?

I, like everyone I know, has a problem of what to do with the leftovr TP rolls.  Well, I found a great inspiration picture.

I came up with this, since I can't disturb the sacred poster!  Cool

Hope you like it!
