1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: Miniature Christmas Village on: July 23, 2012 07:16:11 PM
This is my current pride and joy. I made these houses, shops, church and gazebo from thin ... I hope you like. Any suggestions or comments are welcome.

I like it a lot! I have an idea, you can convert your 3D decors into scrapbook materials, sort of like having a paper pop-up scrapbook version of your decors so they wont got to waste or in the attic, rather put them in a scrapbook. You can glue them directly or remove half of it before pasting them.  Then you'll have one more memorable decor, add your holiday photos, too.

How about taking a photo of a kitchen related item and print and cut, then let it serve as stencil/template?  Huh  Will this do? Or  there must be some local material you can get hold of, check freecycle in your area.

... a separate scrapbookalbum to hold your SB-pages/layouts? [1]
... start with the picture, add colours/papers and so on? [2]
... finish a whole page or work on it in stages [3]
... about letters, ... Doesn't that get expensive? [4]
... letters on the page to be straight? [5]...

1. Well, I usually pick say top 5 of a set of pictures.  If you are overwhelmed, start with only one. Smiley
2. Background should be lighter than picture's color mode. then add adornments, try putting others partially under the pic
3. I usually finish a page then continue to the next, then review what's to be added.
4. Try using the expensive letters as first letters of a word if you want to be frugal.
5. Let the letters be wacky, it adds to the "live" feeling.  <---  Wink ---<

You can also sew the ends of the inner folds, or group them and make them into (a)

Kiss "mini-scrapbook(s)" within a scrapbook  Shocked
Also, the last part of the card might be blank, fill it with the gift cards--sort of a literal backstory.
5  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Scrapbooking: Discussion and Questions / Re: calling for help from a fellow crafter on: July 09, 2012 08:52:10 AM
Am I too late for the baby shower?  Huh Well, I hope not, but if I am late then you can use this idea for next time.  Buy some supplies (like Alacraft), gather five kids, distribute the letters needed and tell them to make and decorate each letter using only the supplies you will give them. Then string them together.  Later you can bind them as background for the baby's first scrapbook. OK.
6  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Scrapbooking: Discussion and Questions / Re: Need Ideas - 101 reasons why i love you :) on: July 09, 2012 08:41:09 AM
My boyfriend and I ... show him a list of 101 reasons why I love him. ... make some sort of scrapbook for him, add pictures and that type of thing. ... any good ideas? Smiley

Well you could make the title have "101 ..." but put in only a hundred. the 101st should be blank.  And when he asks, what or where's the 101st, tell him it's standing in front of you or sitting beside you (meaning him)  Shocked
7  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Scrapbooking: Discussion and Questions / Re: Preparing and Organizing. on: July 09, 2012 08:24:56 AM
.
Well take time off to organize, you know an average person spends an aggregate of 6 years searching for things in real life.  It need not be perfectly arranged, just give it an hour or two a week just organizing your things.  Of course, if you'd rather not, just buy new then and let the next garage sale take care of the lost and found. 8  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Scrapbooking: Discussion and Questions / Re: creative ways to make your own scrapbook albums? on: July 09, 2012 08:17:02 AM
... get into scrapbooking, but falling down at the first hurdle - I have no idea what my actual scrapbook would be!

Well, you can try having a day at the beach, be sure you have a photo taken there.  Then gather 3 beach things, then also buy 3 cute things from scrapbook supplies and combine them! That can start your scrapbook alright.  Wink

To make the "slippery slope" to this hobby a little less steep, you can also have
a "less is more" theme, or "lucky seven" where you pick up 7 kinds of items
from an online supply and use that with a base project (say a series of pics
at the beach last week).  You'll be surprised how you'll squeeze that
creativity even with this suggested minimalist (in kind, not in size) approach. Smiley  Grin

Here's an online supply source you can count on, too. Can you add this to your list?  Their selection could serve up additional ideas: Alacraft.
