2  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: irritating comments on: October 27, 2005 08:39:06 AM
hahah i love this thread to death. luckily, most of my friends think knitting is pretty cool (hardly any of them can do it).

i've gotten the odd - it's for grannies comment, but i always reply with the age old YOUR MUMS A GRANNY. and then i retun silently to my knitting and chuckle. hehe. gets me everytime. it usually works because the receipient of the mum comment usually bakcs away slowly. also, for slight variation in YOUR MUM you can say YOUR FACE. youll get a lot of weird looks, but it makes me laugh.

i guess thats what counts... right?

3  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: portrait in cardboard on: October 26, 2005 10:16:47 AM
i totally dig the whole portrait + embroidery thing. totally. hahah i love it how whenever i come on this site i suddenly turn all american. anyway, yeah its very arty and i like the idea of cardboard. was it really thick? wasnt it hard to pierce? im doing something like that for my a level art. exciting eh?
4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: I <3 Pencil Skirts!!! on: October 26, 2005 10:05:41 AM
i don't know if you're still active in this topic, but i must say - your skirt is choo hawt. j'adore. i have this new thing for pencil skirts - but im so little that all the p3encil skirts they sell in london are either too expensive or too big for me. so i guess my last resort is to make my own. did you use just the black and white fabric? or did you have something underneath? like a stretchy hold in fabric or something? the shape is very roland mouret i must say.

ive never reaaaaally made any of my clothes from scratch before - i jus imbellish and change them a little, nothing from basics. are pencil skirts hard to make? and am i being stupid asking for a tute?  Embarrassed i just really really like the shape of yours (i mean look at your ass in that pic!) and i find that a lot of other pencil skirts arent wel.. tight enough? as hussy-like as that sounds. i jus think if you gotta have a pencil skirt then you gotta have the wobble walk too.

if you can get back to me on this, that would be great. thankyou!  Grin

8  NEEDLEWORK / Sublime Stitching Embroidery / Re: using metallic thread on: July 21, 2005 07:45:47 AM
i heard something about running it over soap or something, itmakes it stick and lubricates it or something. i cant really remember. hopefully it wont dull the colour, but if you run it under warm water or run a damp cloth over it, it should work. there are people who have posted designs with metallic thread on it, and in the questionsd section i think there are a couple posts on it, so check there.
9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: slinky peach 30's inspired wedding gown on: July 21, 2005 07:14:35 AM

10  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: Barbies domestic - BIG IMAGE on: July 19, 2005 06:47:46 AM
wow, i really like it. i know youre probably not trying to make some profound social comment but i like the fact its kinda like even though barbie is perfect, she can still become a victim of something like domestic violence, and even though her face is blighted by her injuries you can still the the fixed plastic smile. i like it.
