1  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Sergers Babylock 097 or Singer Ultralock 14 U 34 on: July 03, 2012 08:49:42 PM
Hi,
I have 2 Serger's in my possession, and am wondering if 1 may be better than the other and I can pass the other one along.

Babylock 097 has no manual, looks good, we're still trying to figure out how to thread it properly and set the tensions.

Singer Ultralock 14 U 34 has a manual that was dropped in water, so I can't read some of it.  It is also missing the front free arm cylinder cover.  The lady who passed it to me said she had been using it.

Any opinions on what may be the better machine?  My hubby thinks the Babylock looks to be made a little sturdier but I have having great difficulty getting a manual.
Thanks for your opinions!
