21  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Hoodie help please! (recon) on: November 07, 2009 07:28:08 AM
I have this really awesome hoodie, it's super warm and has this really nice fake white fur on the inside... unfortunately it's the most god-awful green pastel baby poop color. Green is not my color. Especially light green. I tried to layer something over it, but it's pretty poofy and nothing will fit over it without making me look like i'm smuggling something.

I would just dye it, but I don't want to lose the white faux fur.

Any ideas on what I can do to make it less terrible?  Embarrassed

That's adorable! I'll have to try it.

It seems a bit short to wear alone as a dress though  Huh

Oh wow that's perfect! It's not big and obnoxious like side panels but still works. Thanks!

Looks nice! The logo is really cute.

They're just target pants, made by Mossimo I think.
I'm not too fond of side panels either, but cutting the waistband off entirely seems a bit excessive!

Thanks for your help

I bought some jeans a few months ago without trying them on, and they're just a tiiiiny bit too small. By that I mean they're the perfect height, the legs fit fine, it's just the button is a centimeter or two too tight. They're funny shaped pants I guess, it's like all the way up it's a size 3 but the waist just shrinks to a 1. I'd ignore it altogether but muffintops are unacceptable.

I'm thinking what might work is if I get a little "V" shaped piece of spandex or some stretchy fabric and put it on either side of the jeans. It'd be a little difficult to sew it on since this is pretty thick denim, but I don't know of any other alternatives.

Can any more skilled craftsters help me out here?

I love the skull girl on that shirt and the corstey back fits it perfectly. If you don't mind me asking what tattoo shop was the shirt for?
"American Classic" in Athens. John Collins' store I guess, it has his name on it

Thanks for the comments by the way n__n I appreciate the feedback
30  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / goodwill shirt recon on: July 12, 2009 03:41:02 PM
I picked up a few shirts from goodwill the other day as an attempt to inspire myself to actually do something with my time
and.. it worked!

This shirt started out as a little kid shirt with a pretty badass tattoo girl on the front. I was gonna cut a skeleton-esque back into it but then I realized it has some gigantic advert on the back for some random tattoo parlor in georgia. Bummer! But, I can work around it.
I cut the collar out into a girlier boatneck tee, but that made the sleeves practically fall off, so I added a corsety back to it. When I get some ribbon I'll use that instead of the ghetto makeshift ribbon i made out of a cut up piece of black fabric.

Escuse the bad pictures please! I've been laying around the house all day I don't feel like getting made up for pictures hahah

I think out of all the recons I've ever made, this is the only one I'd wear in public. With an undershirt, of course. Grin
Any comments/advice is much appreciated! I'm relatively new to reconning so any help is appreciated.
