11  Monster Plush (video link!) in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by geekygamergirl on: July 31, 2012 09:21:26 PM
Hi everybody!

So I started sketching the other night and I decided I loved my little monster so much I had to make her... RIGHT NOW.

It didn't matter that it was 9:30 at night already, the kids were in bed and I had the sewing urge!  Took me about three and a half hours.  She's made of two colors of 1 inch pile faux fur, felt, glass beads, DMC thread, black cotton fabric and poly-fil.
Here she is!

If you are interested in seeing her made, I recorded the whole thing and made a time-lapse video.  It's 3.5 hours of work put into 3 min and 45 seconds.  Just go http://youtu.be/u7na5CUwYt4  there!

12  Sir McCloud the Cloud Monster (and his friends, too... pic heavy) in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by geekygamergirl on: July 20, 2012 09:01:51 AM
This is Sir McCloud the Cloud Monster

and his friends Trevor the Thundercloud

 and Clyde the Cloud!

I've never made plushies before, but I loved it.  I'm going to have to make more Cloud Monsters... it's going to drive my husband nuts.  Each one is about 12x18 inches, and all hand sewn.  They are made of faux fur, poly-fil, felt and safety eyes.  On the back of each of them I decided to make a little picture out of felt that described their personalities.

Sir McCloud

is of course a proper gentleman, and loves his cup of tea.

Trevor

is a thundercloud, and a super scary guy (look at those teeth!) so he has a lightening bolt.

Clyde

is a happy go lucky guy... rainbow!!

I had a ton of fun designing and sewing these. Until next time, Sir McCloud says...

Ta-ta!

13  Calm Like a Bomb Hoop in Needlework: Completed Projects by geekygamergirl on: July 20, 2012 08:42:33 AM
Finished my second hoop today!  This one is a 10".  It's my first time sewing words like this.  I think it turned out pretty awesome!

Made of DMC floss and felt. It only took me about 5 hours.  I love making crafts quickly... it makes me feel so accomplished!  Only about 10 more hoops to go until my collage of hoops is done!

14  Zelda: Majora's Mask hoop in Needlework: Completed Projects by geekygamergirl on: July 17, 2012 08:37:34 PM
Hi everybody!  This is my first time posting a project on craftster - hope it's okay to just jump right in!

My husband and I are big gamers, and we decided to redecorate our living room in a Nintendo theme (fun, right?).  I want to do a collage of hoops, and I finished the centerpiece!  I decided to  make it Majora's Mask because it's my absolute favorite game.  Took about 15 hours to complete, but my three month old twins and my two year old were awake the whole time which slowed me down a bit!
