I just received an address book and a surprise necklace/charm of an owl from missmoppet.  Thank you again for everything, it's all really cute.  If you can't tell in the picture, the front of the address book says, "Whooo whooo's address do you need?"

And as an aside:  I'm in love with KimberlyPye's afghan.  Smiley

Just wanted to share the stationary I sent to Velvet Rose- she let me know it arrived safely.  The flowers are fabric, with buttons as decoration.

And then a poor attempt to show that there were a few different designs, including some button cherries:

I also sent some cards, which I didn't get a picture of.  But I was pleased with how it all came out, so I'm glad to know they arrived and will be put to good use!    Smiley

I got a yoyo quilt kit from Avesthel!

She sent me lots of fabric, several different instructions (which is good, because I needed to read two versions to catch on!), a pattern to trace my circles with, a few cut circles, and a sewn yoyo to show me what they should look like!  I can't wait to get started.   Cheesy

i forgot to take pictures of the stuff i sent to defunctbuffalo.  hopefully shell post soon

Here they are!  Sorry for the delay--  I had a MASSIVE exam on Friday, and I'm just now getting back to my life.  Everything other than studying was postponed to the weekend!

But Jamie sent me an amazing package, so check it out-

First, a fabulous hip belt, which fits perfectly:

Erg, ignore the dirty room in the background!  Cleaning was also delayed until after the exam.   Roll Eyes

And a detail shot, to show the zipper and fabric:  (it's incredibly well-made)

And as if that weren't enough, she sent me this vintage vest which she hand-embroidered:

Detail:

Jamie, thank you so much!  I love everything!

Okay- Loves2Experiment, I'm so sorry it took me forever to post pictures!  I recieved some awesome zippered bags, many of which have already been put to use holding pencils and coins and all the little things that were previously cluttering up my world.  And the second picture is meant to demonstrate that they are all fully lined!  Thank you, loves2experiment!!!

6  Re: WIST Swap of May Ongoing Gallery in The Swap Gallery by defunctbuffalo on: May 21, 2006 10:17:13 PM
Sarahimpossible let me know she recieved from me.  She asked for mixed media collages for her walls, I sent her two:

The first is Wanderlust; made of maps, stamps from different countries, cocktail umbrellas, a black and white photograph (raised in the center) and wrapping paper.  It says 'wanderlust' in silver callligraphy, but it's hard to see in the picture.

And a close-up:

The second is Lovable; the background is several pieces of handmade paper, then raised off-white flowers, an image of a woman from an old book of fashion ads, and the definition from a pile of old scrapbook pages.

I'm so glad you liked them, sarahimpossible!

7  It's summer. Another halter. in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by defunctbuffalo on: May 04, 2006 09:08:55 PM
So, I always kind of thought I couldn't wear halter tops, because I'm... well-endowed.  But you know what?  Screw that.  It's summer.   Halter tops all the way.    Grin

Before:

After:

Back:

Now here's the question:  Because of the whole- I probably will never wear this anyway- feeling before I began, I used a shirt with a big 'Education Unlimited' logo.  Which is okay, I guess, I'm all for education (it was a camp I taught at last summer), but I would prefer something less logo-ish.  But what?  It's too big for a cute patch to cover it up.  But now I really like it and want to wear it!

Any ideas on what to put on it to make it a little more stylish, add some interest and cover up the logo?

Thanks!

8  Re: Ongoing Stuff I Can Make Round 3 -- SWAPPING STARTS NOW!!! in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by defunctbuffalo on: April 27, 2006 12:06:37 PM
Sorry the list took so long!  I claimed, then Craftster went down, then I had to go to class.  List:

My list:

1.  Quilled cards-- see the gallery for this swap, or my etsy shop in my signature.

2.  I have a cute set of two round wooden boxes with quilled embellishments of bees and butterflies.
Here's one, the other is slightly smaller, it's pink and purple with butterflies.

3.  I've started making quilled earrings!  They're super awesome.  This will take a little bit longer because I'm sending away for the earring part.  But worth it, and available in all the colors of the rainbow.

4.  Decoupaged boxes.  I made one that's on the first page of the gallery for this swap.

5.  Decoupaged or decorated binders or notebooks in themes of your choosing

6.  Hand-made address book, with a leaf theme-- leaves on the cover, earthy colored pages:  (Note-- this was embellished by me, not made by me!  But it is hand-made.)

7.  Personalized stationary

added:
8.  Envelope of mixed paper and ephemera

9.  Magnets--  not the marble ones; these are flat.  I've got a set already made of great pictures of women and men from the 50's, I think.  But I could make you a set of magnets with almost any theme.

Added a few pictures.

Action shot!

It's the end of a long day...   I just spent ten minutes trying to take a picture of myself and winding up with a closeup of my hair, or my nose, or the collar of the shirt...   so I resorted to the old stand-by of the mirror.

I love it!  Thank you, redpopsicles!

10  Re: fill a coin purse round 4 in The Swap Gallery by defunctbuffalo on: April 17, 2006 08:40:00 PM
The fabulous STINA sent me some amazing stuff.  A lovely coin purse, and tons of awesome goodies.  Observe:

And a close-up of the coin purse:

I love it all!  There's an adorable pink little elephant, and a felt star pin, some candy, a cute heart shaped notepad, a postcard of her home town, some lip gloss, a kit to make a pipe cleaner and pompom lion (very adorable!) and a beautiful scarf in my very favorite shade of red with stripes of sequins.  Thank you Stina!!
