This is absolutely aaahhhmmaaaaaazzzinnngg.

Really, a very brilliant idea. I currently have my DMC floss on the cards inside those bead boxes and organized using the DMC floss color chart I found at my local Michaels (but for some reason can not find on the DMC website...) which organizes it by color for the most part. But I have hundreds of skeins worth, which currently comes out to SEVEN bead boxes which is pretty obnoxious to deal with when I am just trying to pick out colors, especially since I have all of the colors in a very specific order. so every time I pull one out, i have to find where it originally went. I'm not sure any of that makes sense... haha. I think I will have to take a picture of this when I get home. Essentially, it is a total headache, and your idea completely solves all of my problems!!!! And I love that you can move the fabric around to hold colors together.
