2  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / The Thyme Lord on: September 12, 2012 11:59:38 PM

The Thyme Lord - Made in memory of my uncle Nick who inspired my interest in space.

Sculpted with self drying clay and painted in acrylic then finished with varnish.
I planted some Pizza Thyme which smells absolutely amazing and added so much pun.

My Tardis herb plant holder was inspired by a shared love of Dr Who and thanks to jackielantern's Germinate Dalek project.

Thanks for all the lovely comments. I had a pretty firm idea of what I wanted to make so from cutting the pattern to final stitch took me about 2-3 hours. I want to make another big one, just waiting for some fur fabric I like at a good price.
4  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / My Fluffy Monster Cushion on: August 23, 2012 02:41:49 AM

Ok here goes my first craft post.

I had a crafty itch a few months back and created this fluffy monster cushion for our couch. I had Ludo from Labyrinth & Where The Wild Thing Are in mind when I made it.

After I finished I had a bit of fabric left over so I made a little one too. A friend of mine kept ravenously patting them every time he visited so I ended up giving him the little one to keep Cheesy

I'm hoping to make a few more, I love the way these weird creatures brighten up our black couch.

I like the two tones of green in the hair, it reminds me of Medusa. It would be cool to see different colors too. Maybe purple hair and green wings? I'm planning on getting a embroidery machine in the next few months. This has made me want one all the much sooner but alas I must wait.
