Ok so im no expert crocheter. But I think for example, someone really likes your koi pattern, and their new at crocheting, It would be better if it were spelled out as to wear the spots are. Then after that you can say that you may also rearrange the spots, and create different variations. I would want it spelled out and then I could play around with it after I've gotten comfortable with the pattern.
