1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Knitting in Rounds?! on: January 11, 2014 10:10:31 PM
SO I've been trying to learn to knit for a while. I've systematically been working through the Knitting for Dummies book, working through knits, purls, cables, etc. But now I've hit rounds, which is the entire reason I've been wanting to learn to knit. I just can't seem to get it though. I've tried doing it with five small needles, I've tried it with the round needles and I've tried it just with the two and I literally just can't get it. It all just seems to get huge gaps and fall apart once I go back to start knitting into the first cast on.

I want to die!

All I want to do is make a cute toy!! HELP!
2  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Discussion and Questions / Re: Drawing help? on: January 11, 2014 10:04:26 PM
I got these two books called Anyone Can Draw and Drawing Class which have every step of learning to draw more realistic things. I've been working through them for the last few weeks, practicing and pushing myself more and more and they've really helped! I'd check them out!
3  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Discussion and Questions / Re: Is artwork less 'art' when it is made with Copic markers? on: January 11, 2014 10:01:28 PM
I think that art is art no matter what material you use. I personally adore Copic markers and judging by the incredible artwork you have put up here, you ARE an artist who creates gorgeous pieces of artwork that you should be proud of. You are awesome!
4  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Discussion and Questions / Re: Five-o'clock shadow/scruff on an ami? on: January 11, 2014 09:54:09 PM
WHAT A FABULOUS IDEA! I'd run into this issue too and I am SO pleased that I stumbled across this thread! Now to head into my makeup bin to practice some stubble!! Thanks!
5  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Discussion and Questions / Re: Holes when I decrease on: January 11, 2014 09:51:56 PM
I always make sure I use great tension, that's been the one things that I've been able to deduce as to why I've had issues with holes during a decrease. It also may have something to do with the type of stitch you are using. Youtube is ALWAYS a helper, but maybe just check out a few things online for guidance because sometimes it can just be that you may be twisting something JUST the wrong way or something like that. There's a lot of really helpful tutorials all over Pinterest (which I WISH I'd had around when I started). GOOD LUCK!
