Ludi your castle is awesome, it reminds me of the Italian Presepe. Good to have someone who knows what they're doing to help with the lights! I started to play around with LED lights from the dollar store, they have clip on book lights which are fairly easy to take apart and splice the wire as needed, although it sounds like whatever you end up with will be more refined. Smiley

I've been slowly working through trial and error, a lot of errors and starting over (especially with the stairs!) I finally got the tree done, outside portion, a branch is going to be growing in through a window upstairs which needs to be finished.

Another boring in progress detail pic...inspiration pics on the left (top personal, bottom from http://m.imgur.com/a/ImCht) I was excited when my husband brought home oranges, the mesh bag was perfect for adding the criss-cross pattern to the windows!

I finally have one outer wall mostly complete and have started working a bit on the interior rooms. I think I could redo an entire room in my real house quicker than this wee one Smiley
The lacy "molding" is actually ribbon. I need to get a couple more layers of paint on it to make it look like actual wood.

Oh Bunny, what I wouldn't give to get invited to this!

Ludi do share what you're plotting! The quotations around house do intrigue me!

My wee house has been vandalized!  Looks like some hooligans got at it and added some graffiti Smiley

I also decided to add stairs up to the attic in the front bump out, although they're looking a little rickety, I wonder if they'll hold up if anyone tried to use them? The window overlooking the upper veranda will be a doorway, wish I decided that before I started gluing it all together. Sad

I feel like I have my private set of cheerleaders! Smiley Made a little more progress, except I noticed that a lot of you have blogs...which are so much fun to poke around but takes away from crafting time!
So here are a couple of my in progress pics next to the inspiration pictures I'm using from here: http://m.imgur.com/a/ImCht

Some more in progress photos.  It doesn't look like much yet, but my wee house is coming along.

One more to show the slate roof too. The clips are holding the roof on since I cut off the tabs. Smiley

J_kieviet, do share some in progress photos!
Ludi, thank you although my efforts are amateurish next to your great work! The detail on the bridge is amazing!
CMarion, thanks for the tips! I'll have to get to the craft store and look for gel medium. I put a coat of minwax sealer that I had on hand, but your right it'll take a lot of coats since it soaked right in!

So a little update: I'm going for derilect mansion. My insperation is the Rothschild Mansion in Paris http://www.messynessychic.com/2013/02/28/the-rotting-rothschild-mansion-in-paris/ and the photos from urban explorer Andre Govia http://www.viralnova.com/abandoned-mansion-belgium/
But with a twist of my own. So I've started on the brick walls.

Knickertwist, that tin is awesome! (And can one really hijack their own thread?)

I got the Fantasy house put together for a dry run...it only took me about 6 hours over the past week of serious craft time...by serious craft time I mean while drinking champagne, talking to my hubby, watching trashy tv....I then took it apart and started working on the roof tonight. I'm using the egg carton trick to make it look like slate.  I'm going for "woodsy dilapidated" of a once grand mansion.
Can anyone recommend a good non-glossy sealer for the egg carton?

Hello wee house makers! So I first bookmarked this thread way back when there were only 35 pages as inspiration for building my first fairy house for a fairy house festival. Our house placed that first year, sadly I don't have any pictures of that one, but here are some in progress shots of the one we entered last year.
