1  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Discussion and Questions / Any tips on how to increase size of a small Amigurumi from 7 inches to 3 feet? on: June 14, 2012 04:29:08 PM
I was thinking about making a 'life size' version of this pattern here http://wolfdreamer-oth.blogspot.com/2010/08/umbreon-plushie.html (WolfDreamer's Umbreon) as a surprise gift for a friend.

The original pattern version I made is 7 inches tall at the tail, 6 1/2 inches at the ear, and 3 3/4 inches at the shoulder.

The 'life size' Umbreon should be about 3 feet 3 inches at the tallest point - which in official pictures looks about the tip of the ear...

I have no idea on where to start - hook size? bulkier yarn? massive increases and decreases?

Thanks!
2  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Discussion and Questions / Help modifying one pattern to work for another character! on: June 12, 2012 09:23:08 PM
I want to make a Teto amigurumi for a Nausicaa cosplay I hope to do soon. I made Umbreon according to WolfDreamer's Umbreon (http://wolfdreamer-oth.blogspot.com/2010/08/umbreon-plushie.html) and noticed that it was really close to what I needed for Teto -including the size. Does anyone have any hints on how to modify the umbreon pattern into Teto? This is the first time I've wanted to do something like this, so advice from experienced amigurumi crafters would be really helpful! Especially on how to do the stripes!
