1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Crown Royal Handbag on: February 17, 2014 11:09:19 PM
Wow! I leave on hiatus and come back to see this! I'm super psyched- I've never won anything before x)

And I must admit that I haven't returned with a tutorial. I've been working towards a new college degree that consumes nearly all of my time and patience. But I have to admit that being picked as one of the Best of 2013 has renewed my interest in this project. If anyone is still interested, watch this space and I'll post a tutorial here as soon as I can.

thanks for the comments! I definitely get a lot of attention with this bag, especially at the bar x)

I've thought about maybe trying to make a tutorial for these... maybe if I have time this summer.

I have collected a what I thought was a huge stash of flannel Crown Royal bogs in the hopes of one day making a quilt out of them, but one day I got kind of bored with storing them and decided to think of something else I could make. I've been in the middle of a handbag making craze for a while so I figured I'd make a little purse!

The outside is made entirely from normal sized CR bags.

The lining is a pale yellow cotton. There's a small internal pocket that you can't see. It's small, but perfect for a night out Smiley

What do you think?
4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: AFI Despair Faction t-shirt corset on: June 10, 2013 09:45:06 PM
I've been trying to think of a way to make a t-shirt corset for a while, but I can't decide how to get it shaped properly without cutting out pieces of the printing. How did you peice the outside to avoid destroying the printing?

I'd never heard of using kool-aid to dye yearn before, but it turned out beautiful. I might have to give it a try now Smiley

I'm really impressed by the design of the bag too- especially for your first one.

It probably looks a lot nicer than a case you can find in a store! I'd like to make a case for my own laptop, but I'd need more than two fat quarters to cover that ancient thing haha.

Nicely done!
