During the NHL season, I made a variation on the wristband pattern in honor of my beloved Boston Bruins...

Here it is, before it was sewn up:

And here I am modeling it:

I wore it to the playoffs and the boys won one game, but lost the other. In good news, it kept me unbelievably warm. I was surprised, but by covering the wrist with yarn, it really helped with body temperature! I'm probably going to make another for my other wrist before next season. Cheesy

Hi everyone!

I have always had an interest in beading, but have never tried it. I lost my job last month and decided that I should try beading now as a way to keep my mind active (and not on all the rejection letters I've received from my job applications!). I went to AC Moore and picked up some beading stuff during the sale last week.

I'm curious... What books do you find to be the best for a beginner? Any web sites? I did buy The Beader's Bible and I have been googling beading, but would love to hear what books/sites experienced beaders use.

I recently started taking yoga classes as a way to get some exercise and (hopefully) tone down my tension headaches. So far, it's been working beautifully! I decided I needed a yoga mat, and of course, once I got that... My yoga mat needed a cozy home. I found the pattern on Ravelry.com -


The yarn matches my mat perfectly!  Wink

This is my first attempt at needle-felting... and my first attempt at posting a photo at Craftster! Smiley

I discovered needle-felting in the latest issue of Crafts n Things and really wanted to try it. I used pink wool roving (Clover brand), teal wool from a needle-felting kit & Bernat Felting yarn to make these eggs. I used a styrofoam egg as the base of each.

I'm a great crocheter (if I do say so myself) and a somewhat OK knitter... I was at Joann's today, buying buttons to add to a crochet project, when I started drooling over the fabric displays. Am thinking about trying to pick up sewing, but none of the craft stores near me offer classes. I have a Handy Stitch small hand-held sewing machine and no experience sewing...

Any suggestions? Smiley
