Our new puppy really loves fiber. First it was the little clouds of pygora floating in the backyard (even though I cleaned that last summer, some of it is still around!). Last week I did some dyeing, and she decided to grab 8 oz balls of roving in her little puppy jaws and take off. It took two of us to get it back and involved me climbing under the dining room table behind her to get it back.

Today, she has been going upstairs and bringing me balls of yarn/fiber. I was doing a bit of cleaning today and must have left the door open to the bedroom. First she brought me a ball of red Patons Classic Merino Wool and was scolded (upstairs is supposed to be off limits!) and later, a 10 oz ball purple roving for my latest spinning project.

My mother thinks she wants red and purple leg warmers. She is definitely trouble!

Woohoo, I made it. The first two were spun this week, the others in the past month or so. Taking pictures while the semester was winding down was beyond me. Truth be told, so is setting the twist, since I haven't done it to any of these!




Tweedy - Batts from my Fiber of the Month - May partner, tristitia. Various wools and lots of black angelina, around 3 oz, bulky thick and thin single.



Antique Shadowbox - handdyed by me, superwash merino, about 4 oz, navajo plied. Planning to make socks for myself!

I received a wonderful package last week from tristitia, but have been slacking on taking pictures. This picture doesn't really do her batts justice. One set is already spun up! I had to spin them the next day, they were calling my name. In addition to the batts, she mailed me some Hello Yarn roving in "Toxic". Beautiful stuff.

Bag of alpaca/wool fiber - The alpaca feels amazing and it is a lovely cocoa color, can't wait to make some batts with it...

Pattern: Felted Clogs from Fibertrends, Mens size 11

This pattern was great. Pretty easy to knit, as long as you remember to count! It was my first time using short rows and had no issues. I've been ambitious and plan to knit at least four pairs of these babies for Christmas gifts. Took me about 4.5 hours of knitting/seaming time, less if I wasn't trying to knit AND surf the web.

I love this pattern! For some reason mine doesn't 'poof' up as much as others that I've seen - and that was before blocking! Either way, still happy with the result. Just need to find something else to line it with. Blogged here.
