I wanted to try to make a rug but then I thought you probably need more than one holey pair of pants to make a decent-sized rug

My favorite pair of skinnies got a hole in the crotch so I had to toss them, but instead of throwing them out I reused them to make a kitty for my puppy!

My favorite Gap skinny jeans have a whole in the crotch that's unpatchable but I really love the dark denim, any suggestions of what to do with the material?
5  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Old Bulletin Board? Nahhh pretty necklace hanger!! on: May 21, 2012 06:17:48 AM
Sorry for the crappy pic quality, my cell is not the best photo source, but here ya go anyway:

The spots are actually black, not purple how they look here. And the pink is a little more pink but you get the picture lol. I basically covered the bulletin board with butterfly fabric and stapled it to the back. Then I added a few strips of really thick pink ribbon as well as a couple thin strips. Since I couldn't exactly nail it to my apartment wall with those big thick nails I had to compromise and instead Stapled a couple really thick black painted popsicle sticks to the back and put a couple small nails through those. The necklaces are just held up by push pins!

Cute! For future reference instead of using live trace try out the pen tool (it takes a little getting used to at first if you're not already familiar with it). It will allow you smoother curves and you can play around with line widths.
