Yar, here are some new shirts. Alas, they aren't as exciting as usual because only one of the designs is really, truly (madly, deeply, ack!) my own, but I'm still pretty happy with the way they turned out. So, without further ado...
#1) GI Joe Was Never Better
This was a job for a friend, and the design concept had to be explained to me before it amused me sufficiently. For those as in the dark as I was, there is a website on which one can view old GI Joe cartoon Public Service Announcements that have been overdubbed with rather inspired dialogue. For further explanation of the meaning of this shirt, go to http://www.fenslerfilm.com/?sec=video
and click on PSA number 07. (And, yes, I realize, that now-after the fact-there are t-shirts for sale on the Fensler Films website. Even so, I wasn't aware of this at the time, and was rather proud of the speed with which I knocked this one out.)
#2) Fear and Loathing in Hobby Lobby
So...the circle around the Gonzo fist isn't usually that thick, but I had some serious bleeding issues and that seemed the least offensive fix. Somehow, I don't think the Good Doctor would mind. For another sweet homage to dear old Hunter S., check out Era Vera's version at http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=40907.0
#3) Night of the Living Anthropology Dorks
So, my anthro class is full of delightfully funny, nerdy people who appreciate crap like making shirts when you're bored. We just finished reading Wade Davis' "Passage of Darkness," which is the academic version of his more popular "The Serpent and the Rainbow." Sounds boring, yes, but guess what? THEY'RE BOOKS ABOUT ZOMBIES. Real zombies, which one must admit, are pretty intriguing. Very long story ridiculously short, you mix poison from puffer fish with a lot of chemically inert ingredients and do a lot of magic rituals, some of which involve rooster torture, and some sorry sap ends up a zombie. Less exciting than Romero, I know, but still pretty cool. And because I wanted to amuse my class (they loved it and my teacher laughed hysterically), I give you the zombie shirt: fish+rooster=zombie. Schwing.
All of the shirts are kid mediums from Hobby Lobby. They fit fantastically and are nice and soft.
