11  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Playing Card Earrings on: July 06, 2005 09:16:42 AM
Tiny tiny playing cards I'm never going to use.  What to do with them?  Earrings!
Ear shot (I don't know why my ear is red like that. o.o )

Other earring shot.

I've made five in total so far and then ran out of earrings parts so I need to buy some more.  I'm thinking of selling them, how much should I price them at?
12  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Duvet cover to circle skirt [first proper recon] on: June 30, 2005 02:42:21 PM
So there was once a little duvet cover who was unloved and given away in a bingo game only to be given away once again where it was recieved with glee only to be discovered that it didn't fit chosen bed and so spent many lonely months in a cupboard with only towels and other sheets to converse with.  Then an idea sprang to mind and the lonely cover was fished out and after three attempts was made into a lovely skirt.

(Not quite finished yet.  Still needs hemming.)

Excuse any dodgeness on the stitching, I hand sewed it.

The front

The back

I'll get better pictures tomorrow, I don't have access to a full length mirror at the moment.
13  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Oh Mr Rabbit! [First stencil] on: June 24, 2005 01:25:15 PM
My first try at stenciling.  I couldn't figure out which parts to cut out for the one I wanted so I chose something simple.

What do you think? Good or bad?

14  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Sunburn soother? on: June 22, 2005 07:28:50 AM
Something that isn't Aloe Vera since it's not working that well for me.  I stupidly forgot that 12 was the hottest part of the day and spent an hour outside today.

Shoulders and back.  Sad
15  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Odd earrings? on: June 17, 2005 05:30:56 AM
What can I do with odd earrings I only have one of?
16  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Inspirational Quotes Picture Frame on: June 14, 2005 03:23:26 AM
I bought a picture frame and covered it with three layers of pink tissue paper (one sheet) on the front and back.  Printed some quotes off in a great font and stuck them down, I then applied three coats of PVA to seal the front.

Can be stood either way.

You can still kinda see the 'design' on the frame underneath since I couldn't find a plain wood one.  It's for my best friend, what'cha think, it's my first 'photo frame'.
17  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Baggy t-shirt to recon'd t-shirt. [First recon.] on: June 09, 2005 04:00:58 PM
An semi-old t-shirt my dad gave me a while back, it's only ever been worn for being around the house so I thought I'd fix it so it fit me.

It's not finished yet, and I'm debating on whether or not to add another strap (I probably will) or change it completely as but since my sewing machine (dosen't work) is out of action it's currently held together with a tacking stitch to get the correct fit.

Sorry it's a bad picture and ignore my top underneath.

A better picture of the front, I couldn't figure out a way to get a decent picture of the russian on the back.

Tell me what you think please.
18  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Villain Swap? on: June 06, 2005 03:21:57 PM
How about a villain swap?  Choose your favourite villian(s) from books, movies and create little crafts or whatever for them?

I was just wondering if anyone would like to organise a swap like this since I'm only allowed to be in one swap at the moment since I'm a 'newbie'

I searched the board and couldn't see anything similar to this but I might've missed it.
19  CLOTHING / Costumes: Discussion and Questions / Angel wings - help me make them. on: May 31, 2005 05:47:01 AM
Right so I want to make these wings in time for my birthday party (it's going to be fancy dress) but I'm at a loss of how to do it except make the wire frame which my dad said he'd help with.

Any idea how I'd insert the feathers in and more importantly where can I buy a mass bulk of black feathers that look decent for relatively cheap?

I also don't want them that big nor the feathers dangling at the bottom but that general shape and idea.

(And if this is posted in the wrong place, please feel free to move it as I didn't know where to put it.)

Thanks. ^^
20  U.K. AND IRELAND / ENGLAND / Cheap Sewing Machines in Liverpool? on: May 04, 2005 04:40:24 PM
Anyone know where I could find one?  I have a singer at the moment but it's about 50 years old and not very good to start out and everything since it only does one stitch.

I'm willing to spend up to about 30-50 on a good decent one that will last me a long time with blind stitch, one stitch, zig-zag etc.

Can anyone post stores that might sell them in my price range as I don't really want to pay 15+ postage and packaging for one on Ebay.

Thanks for all your help.  (My first post here.)
