11  My first fair isle! in Knitting: Completed Projects by orangeabsinthe on: November 28, 2005 10:10:46 PM
Hi everyone!  I'm just posting to show off my first fair isle project!  I made this for the ongoing wish swap round 3, and craftster Batgirl requested a hat with skulls.  Here's what I sent:

Here are some of my favorite things from a whole gallon bag of things Kbug sent me.  After I took everything out, I couldn't even fit everything back!  Thank you so much!

15  Re: Projects from "Last Minute Knitted Gifts" in Knitting: Completed Projects by orangeabsinthe on: June 14, 2005 10:38:02 PM
I made this "Airy Scarf" from some yarn I found in my mom's yarn stash.  Its hard to tell, but its dark green with a rainbow thread running through it, each color fading into the next (if that makes any sense)

The gauge was a little different than it called for in the pattern, but it doesn't matter so much with a scarf I guess.  I still like it tons

16  Some of my finished projects(pic heavy) in Knitting: Completed Projects by orangeabsinthe on: May 12, 2005 04:10:33 PM
These are some of my finished projects...hope you like (forgive pic quality, my digi is really crappy)

This is both my first completed project and (obviously) my first sweater.  The upper chest, sleeve cuffs, and bottom are done in garter stitch and the rest is stockingette.

This is a close up of the upper chest area

This is a plain ol' garter stitch scarf that I made for my boyfriend out of homespun

This is a blanket I made for the birth of my son.  It was made in strips, then sewn together.  Then I picked up stitches around the outside for the border

A closeup of 2 of the pattern squares

This hat I made, first project in the round

So what do ya think?

Here's a little hat I just finished for my friend who's having a baby.  I should have made it bigger but I got impatient  and quit before it was long enough.  Oh well, I guess its only infant size.

Here's my 3 month son modeling it for everyone

I just got home from visiting my family in Austin.  While I was there, my mom told me to raid her yarn stash and take whatever I wanted.  I found this:

Its this beautiful Kid Mohair/Wool/Silk/Acrylic blend.  Main color dark green but one of the ply threads is a rainbow that keeps fading into the next color.  I loved it so much I could not wait to knit something with it, so I choose to do the airy scarf from Last-Minute Knitted Gifts.

Here are some 1 hour baby booties that I finished today.  They're for my friends who are expecting a daughter in October.  I knit them with some Icelandic wool that I found in my mom's yarn stash
